Results go the right way Angola could go through with Portugal

Want a Mexico win, and Angola win.

I don't think Angola will go through! They need a 2 goal swing for a start!

5 mins: After a soporific start to this game, news filters through that Portugal are beating Mexico thanks to a Maniche goal. All Angola now need to do is win - but they might have to start attacking first.

You don't like Mexico, either?

Bit disappointed with Mexico since the Iran game. Still think we might pull of a shock in round two.

I had tickets to this game, but now my Mum's there and I'm watching at home. :(

Understandable when it was Ukraine - Spain! It would be good to see Angola progress and bring some cheer to their people.

I know, you're down on the Latins; a swarthy but cheerful bunch.
I usually want Spain to lose but my son's got me supporting them this year.

i'd like to see Mexico win this game, which is unlikely although there have been chances at both ends.

I'd also like to see Angola win the other game.

BBC has a good print commentary, e.g.

"61 mins: Clearly unhappy with the start to the half from his side, Scolari takes off Miguel and Chelsea right-back Paulo Ferreira enters the fray.

60 mins: RED CARD
Mexico are down to 10 men. At first it looked as though La Volpe's side had been given their second penalty in two minutes, but instead Luis Perez receives a yellow card for diving - his second of the match - and he has to go off. Harsh.

58 mins: MISSED PENALTY Portugal 2-1 Mexico.
A huge let-off for Portugal. More good play from Perez prompts Miguel into a needless handball and it is well spotted by the eagle-eyed referee. However, Bravo opts for power and his spot-kick flies high into the stands without ever looking likely to trouble Ricardo.

60 mins: GOAL Iran 1-0 Angola Unbelievable. This could be one of the great World Cup stories. Amado Flavio bags his 14th goal for Angola with a lovely header at the far post from Ze Kalanga's right-wing cross after great work from Figueiredo.

The BBC say Iran have scored on 60 mins - but then go on to say its Angola who scored!

Angola need 2 more goals to go through.

alternatively, i think they'll go through if portugal score another 2 as well.

In t'other game, Portugal 2, Mexico 1.

About 25 minutes to go.

Mexico, down to ten men, have played by far the better football this half.

Portugal do seem to be doing more defending than necessary against 10 men but on their 1st half I was very afraid for England's chances if we met them in the quarters, especially as Big Phil has rested 5 players for this match.

As nice as it would be for Angola to go through, Mexico would have a better chance of upsetting Argentina in the next round so come on Mexico.

I agree Angola are really not very good. They drew with Mexico, because they put 10 men behind the ball.
I think the team(Argies or Holland) who got Angola would be certain of a next round berth, whereby Mexico will be a worthly competetor. Didn't Mexico rest a couple of players today?
