Brighton have turned down a transfer request from striker Colin Kazim-Richards.

The 19-year-old front man has shown plenty of promise on the coast since his move to Brighton from Bury but has not been amused by the treatment he has received from manager Mark McGhee at the start of this season.

Kazim-Richards came on as substitute in Brighton's opening day defeat of Rotherham, only to be taken off again before the end of the game.

A request to leave was submitted at the end of the game, with the player then left out of Brighton's squad for their midweek clash with Gillingham.

However, despite the player's wishes, Seagulls boss Mark McGhee has confirmed he wants to keep Kazim-Richards at the club.

''The transfer request has been refused because we have made an investment in Colin,'' McGhee told the Argus.

''I am determined to make him into a player. We've had no interest in him from any other clubs and he has no grounds asking for a transfer.''

Well I'd be pretty pissed off if I've come on as a sub, and am then substituted.
Mind you, I'd be pissed off anyway playing for Brighton.

So where next for the Coca-Cola kid?
