Paul Kitson's proposed move to Birmingham City is off.
Harry Redknapp confirmed that the sriker, who has had lengthy talks with the club this week, was back at Upton Park. He said
"The deal has fallen through. He fancied the move, that's why he spoke to them. I don't think he could agree terms."
Redknapp is sure, however, that another club will come in for him - though not Wimbledon. There have been rumours that the Dons wanted to reunite Kitson with John Hartson, but Harry denied any bid. but he did say
"I'm sure there are other people interested in him. He needs a change, for sure."
INJURIES have blighted Paul's West Ham career since he made the £2.3m switch from Newcastle.
The striker struck up a good understanding with fellow new signing John Hartson in his first season, only for his injury curse to strike again.
Competition for places at Upton park has never been greater than amongst the current squad Harry Redknapp has put together, and Paul is up against, among others, Paolo Di Canio, Davor Suker and Frederic Kanoute.
Kitson spent a spell on loan at First Division Charlton towards the end of the 1999/00 season in order to gain first team football, but the temporary switch failed to materialise into something more permanent.
Paul will be hoping all his injury worries are behind him as he strives to make a real impact on the Premiership in the new campaign.
