Got 2 very long days ahead of me, can't wait for the weekend and then by Wednesday week all my clients are gone! I shall shut myself away with Harry Potter (lucky boy!!:o ) as soon as I get it and wont emerge until I've finished! I shall also avoid my idiot brother in law who took great glea in telling me about a major death in the last book even though he's never read a single HP book! :veryangry

It'll be entertaining at least.....................:D
(not that it won't be anyway)

So was Judy Finigans (sp) mishap entertaining? I think not!!

Okay change of subject time - have either of you ever been on holiday to Turkey and if so, what's it like?
Princess

Just been to Istanbul and I loved it. My sister has gone for years and loved it too!

Nope although No3 Son was there a few weeks ago and said it was "okay"... There again what a 21 year old with his girlfriend like could well be a lot different to what we may think.

Guess it depends on what you want/like. My holidays to Greece were spent doing absolutely nothing other than turning over occasionally and eating in the same restaurant every night!

17-07-2007, 09:38 AM
You are right there PP.
Must admit I do want to go to Istanbul for a long weekend. May have to put it on the calendar for 2009 now as 2008 is already pretty full...

Himself and I want nothing more than to lie still, read and chill out. Loopy and friend want a bit of night-life. I've seen lots of last-minute holidays to Turkey but the reviews on Trip Advisor and Holiday Watchdog haven't been that good.
BaldEagle96
17-07-2007, 10:03 AM
I always find that Trip Advisor is only used by people who want to moan. Must admit I don't even look at reviews now. Keyboard warriors the lot of them and all the thousands of people who enjoy the place never say a word! :)
Florence
17-07-2007, 10:11 AM
I know what you mean. I never used to look at them but my boss sort of got me into it. Mind you, there's one review for a hotel we've stayed at three times before which was awful. The hotel itself (before it was only available via Thomson) was excellent. So I guess it doesn't always pay to read them.

I just find that people go way OTT and feel sometimes they are a good place for competitors to get "friends" to say things that are just not true!
Princess
17-07-2007, 10:45 AM
It's a very tricky thing to do and is very much "horses for courses". Everybody likes different stuff - me and my camping for example!
Florence
17-07-2007, 10:48 AM
We've always tried any holiday destination to see for ourselves what it was like. The only time this did not work was when we went to Tunisia when Loopy was 5. Oh dear me. Not good at all.
BaldEagle96
17-07-2007, 10:58 AM
Never wanted to go to Tunisia personally although we did go to Morrocco many moons ago and loved it.
Princess
17-07-2007, 11:02 AM
Never fancied Tunisia either, had an awful time in Agadir years ago.

That's where we went and loved it. 1986 or so..

It was an incentive that Paul was awarded - stayed at Club Med and it was awful!
BaldEagle96
17-07-2007, 11:14 AM
What was? The hotel or the whole experience of Agadir?
Princess
17-07-2007, 11:30 AM
Club Med was disgusting and it soured the whole experience tbh.
BaldEagle96
17-07-2007, 11:33 AM
Okay... As I say it was a long time ago now that we were there and no doubt the whole place has changed big time.
Princess
18-07-2007, 09:20 AM
Was probably just where I was staying, Club Med was so up themselves and for no good reason!

Lianne went to Sing along to The Sound of Music somewhere near Leicester Square the other Friday. You have to dress up as tho' you are in the film. She travelled from Brighton in 3/4 length trousers, shirt, and braces, with her hair plaited and wearing a straw hat!!!
