View Full Version : Four Sheff Utd players made available for loan

Chris Lucketti, Alan Wright, David Unsworth and Neil, Neil Shipperley.
Apparantly Taylor's said he won't loan any outfield players, but do you think any of these would improve the squad?
Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Unsworth. He's got the experience we need at the back and can take a great free kick/penalty.
As much as I'd love Shipps' passion and leadership back at the club, we patently don't need another targetman.
Lucketti might be a decent stop gap, Alan Wright is surely too old and left back is not a priority imo.

Another vote here for Unsworth. He may be getting on but he'd be a great addition to add an extra bit of leadership and experience at the back.

If we end up in a relegation dogfight l'd love to see Shipperley here as cover for Scowcroft.

Unsworth's definatly worth a shot, a leader at the back who's proven in this divison.
Same with Chris Lucketti who would be a good defensive midfielder, I wouldn't want Lucketti just on loan though as it may unsettle players like Watson, Flecther and Kennedy, i'd rather we'd buy him.

I am reliably informed that when 'Shipperley' returned to 'Mother' England after his summer holiday, his physique gave the distinct impression that a vigorous 'Pre-Season' training schedule would have been necessary to enable the laddie to perform as a 'Professional' footballer.

Unsworth and Lucketti on short term deals would be ok I think

I'd take Lucketti for sure.
He was one of these players we were continually linked with ten or so years ago and we never managed to land him.
He's a good, no nonsense centre half though and would be infinitely preferable to Ward.

'Unsworth' has taken 'Penalties' at all levels and his success rate is to be admired.

Unsworth, Wright and Lucketti would be better than Ward, Butterfield and Kennedy. Get 'em in I say!

How can you compare two centre halves and a left back, to another centre half a right back and a midfielder?

Wise has constantly been trying to sign Lucketti over recent weeks. He's a good player but the age (on all of them, really) puts me off. Alan Wright isn't worth thinking about - he was atrocious for the short time he was on loan at Leeds. Absolutely atrocious. It takes a special kind of incompetence to stand out as bad in our team right now, but he really was awful, then got injured. Aaaw, what a shame.:o
Unsworth probably has most going for him. left back/centre half, strong, leadership qualities and not bad from set pieces.

The thing is these are all typical PT signings if his current record with us is anything to go by.
Beware the January transfer window!

Silly me- he might get confused about how far we are from Liverpool (Everton) LOL:rolleyes:
Unsworth would be a good shout on a loan - no hard cash

'Wright' is most certainly vertically 'Challenged' but I am led to believe that he has an exceptional 'Leap' for someone of his stature.

Shipps is talking to Hull
Wright is talking to an unnamed Championship club
I'd take Unsworth in a second, but its the loan deadline today, so I cant see us doing all as usual.

Oh is it?
Wondered why so many loans were suddenly going through.
Alan Wright's joined Cardiff on loan. Seems a strange one if what m355y said is true.
