I have a triple boot system with xp, vista and ubuntu and I'm trying to get all three boot options on one screen. Unfortunately I can't get Ubuntu to work.
What I've done is to create a file called Ubuntu.bin using the following command on the live cd
dd if=/dev/sda6 of=/ubuntu.bin bs=512 count=1 , then copying ubuntu.bin to the windows folder and adding a new entry to the boot.ini file pointing to ubuntu.bin. When I try to boot in to Ubuntu I get an error message saying hal.dll doesn't exist.
Having looked on the net the only thing people suggest is that you're not pointing ubuntu.bin to the right partition, I'm sure I am though.
I know I could just reinstall Linux and it would all work fine but I find it messy having to go through GRUB and the Microsoft boot menu.
Does anyone know where I'm going wrong.
