is in a sad state when the charts are clogged up with cheesy pop, "r&b", garage, teen punk and nu-metal and a great band likeninehead (http://www.ninehead.com) can't get signed.

Talent, originality, loads of catchy songs, but reduced to giving their 3rd album away for free on their website.....hopefully their 4th album will see them get signed and get the rewards they deserve, or maybe that cash will continue to fill the pockets of musically illiterate boy/girl band members.

I recommend those who appreciate good music to download some tracks, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

:p

i particularly like Summertime, Catastrophe, pile of bones and Anything.

i just mean music that isn't pop, that isn't all about marketing and brainwashing from greedy record companies.

music written for the love of music, not for the money.

:moo:

whether thats jazz, blues, country, rock, or classical doesn't matter.

They're surprisingly good actually. Prefer Green Day, Blink 182, Offspring e.t.c. to Ninehead (http://www.ninehead.com/Music.htm) though.

The charts have always been crap and have never reflected the music of the time. Something I remind myself whenever I'm called 'old' for not liking it. I never liked chart music when I was a teenager for fek sake.

Just watch Ricky Tomlinson shoot up the charts with "Are You Looking At Me?"

It is a catchy novelty record made by an extremely popular personality.
