After last nights game, did Shipps do enough to warrant Palace trying to sign him? A lot of people put him on the list of forwards to sign, but, if he was totally dominated by Ruddock, is he good enough for Palace?

Maybe he was playing for a move...a la G Thomas v Blackburn a decade ago (or so it seems)

I thought he looked a shadow of the player we sold. Not literally of course - in fact, he may have put on a few pounds.

He is not good enough.

He did look rather large and didn't have that good a game, but then again, Big razor seemed to be marking him pretty closely.

Agreed. And why would Barnsley want to sell a first team player. Get real.

Tommy Black didn have a great game either. You cant just judge on one appearance.

Remember Shipps is playing in a poor side (5-1 Fulham) so its hard to judge. He started off ok, with some good little touches. He won headers, laying the ball off to the midfielders and moving forward. He also got back and defended. Ruddock didn't make life easy for him either, he gave him a bit of a battering.

I'm not a great Shipperly fan but you'd have to say he didn't get much in the way of service last night.

Have to agree with Marco, thought it was Tommy's worst game for us so far although he has set himself very high standards. I think that the fact that Clinton was dropping off Leon into the wide right position recently occupied by Tommy didnt help. It forced him inside into the 'congestion zone' a bit too much.

shipps is a class act at this level, just the man to take us up, also he must be up for it as put in for the trust.
