Anyone else got this on the PC? What an awesome game. I will never be able to play another game now unless it has 'bullet time'.

If you've not heard of it yet then go check it out. It's a bit like Tomb Raider but less puzzles and more action.

Good game. I thought though, that after you had seen the bullet time a few times, the actual game became quite boring and repititive!!

Give me Project IGI instead anyday! :p

I have that too, quality :p

Only thing is it's bloody frustrating when you spend 20 minutes getting to the end of a level only to die from one stray bullet. They should let you save 2/3 times during each level!

The only problem I have with it, is that some of the guards keep coming back to life!! It is so frustrating to clear the watch tower, wait for a bit then run out infront of it, only to find they have employed a replacement already!!!! :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

I feel like a little kid, shouting at the screen, "I killed you!! You're dead! Thats not fair!! :( "

Isn't there a "quick save" in Max Payne by pressing a function key or something??? This, if I am correct in my thinking, allows you to save at any stage.

Max Payne on PS2 also looks cool - but not as cool as the XBOX version :p

I played the demo of Max Payne...as you say, pretty impressive stuff!!

The last few games I bought, all were budget priced games, and I've really liked:

Soldier of Fortune
Oni
Gunman Chronicles
Thief 2
Delta Force
Metal Gear Solid
Deus Ex

.....and my particular favourite in a strange kinda way,
No one lives Forever !!

You can save at any point on a level..

The worst part of the game is it took me 8 hours to finish it!!! One evenings play!!

Smackdown 3 is unimpressive at best - I had the previous two Smackdown games....

Too slow...such a shame they couldn't pick up the playability of the previous games.

Just got this game. Must admit. It is quality. Don't know how you managed to complete in 8 hours though. I've been playing it for about 10 and 've just got to the part whre he has the drug for the 2nd time. I think it's amazing when he's seeing things. :)

Obviously...But Max Payne is not crap...It's amazing. I bet MGS2 doesn't have bullet time. Which is quality.

It's makes it go all Matrix style. Which is great fun.
And I care, If Metal Gear Solid 2 had a function you could pick up every so often like that it'd be even better. I can imagine the graphics now. :)

Must say that Max Payne is one of the better games I've ever played, on the contrary I must say that it didn't take that long to complete, even though it's a fairly big game with three episodes. However the bullet time makes it all worthwhile. A game definately the better end of the scale

The reason it doesn't take long to complete is the fact that u can save it anywhere. I think it'd be really hard if they save points and when you died you kept going back to the last save point whenever u die.

Can anybody help me?

Im stuck on The first part of the second chapter, The bit when its all dark and there is only an ickle yellow line on the floor, I never know which way to go and i end up falling off when ever I miss a jump or something and I end up back where i started and its really []D!$$![]\[]G

The part where Max has drunk the spiked drink yeah? Basically, Just take your time. Go slowly and listen to how close you sound to te crying. You'll soon find it. Well, at least you should. :)

Yep. Good post. Definately getting Medal of Honour Frontline. Not sure about Fighter Commander though. Think Ace Combat 4 is better. Conflict Desert Storm looks amazing! Another game to add to my list. :p

I also want to get Prisoner Of War when it comes out.

It's a kind of "escape from Colditz" thing where you have to escape without any weapons and just crappy bits found around the camp I think. :)

Oh hell yeah, and desert storm looks so good. I need more money! Perhaps i could play as the fourth striker at Palace, i couldnt do much worse than another new boy!

Anyway back to Max Payne!

I am again in need of help!

Chapter 2 part 3(I think)

The bit where you enter Punchinello's Cafe and everything burns, I can get to the second corridor (with flames either side) BUT after that i always die and fry!

All help greatly appreciated.:(

This is the hardest part in the game IMHO. This is always going to take some time to do. To hard to explain exactly where to go so if you want that, search for the walkthrough in google. :angel: The only advcise I can give you is don't stop running. You'll soon learn the path. It took me about 15 attempts. :(
