Anyone who wishes to take part in the betting masters '45 must “register” (post on this thread) before the end of 18 of August.
Rules are as follows
1 Every player has 200 points to bet with in the first round.
2 Each separate bet made is 10 points meaning players have 20 bets during the first 20 days. Maximum bet on a single game is 10 points, same rule applies for identical multis.
3 In the second round the 4* finalists all start on 0 points, but the winner from the first round will get an additional 10 points (1 bet) to the 150 points that can bet used in the second round. (*if the number of participants get’s to 17 or more, then a 5 finalist place will be added).
4 Betting Masters, first group stages runs from 0000 on the 01 of August (standard UK time) to 2359hrs on Monday 20/08/07. Then the top four* posters come together in a mini league from there on and out August month.
Final bet settlement must occur before 2359 on the 31, August.
5 Naturally the winner is the person with the highest score on September 1.
6 Scoring consists of total winnings and is inclusive of 10 point stake i.e. someone bets on a 6/4 horse and it wins their score becomes 25 (15 points profits plus the 10 pt stake) There is no score for any bets not used. Losing bets are scored as zero, not -10.
Any bet from an exchange bookie will have a 4% commission (on the winnings), if nothing else is explicitly stated in the post.
7 Players must quote where they're getting their prices.
8 Singles and upwards accepted.
9 For boxed multis and bets such as Yankees, each separate bet within the bet counts as separate and will cost 10pts per bet. e.g. ten trebles from five selections will use up 100 points.
10. E/W bets are counted as two bets in the masters, which means 10 points x 2
11. For tracking purposes, players are requested to put the outcome of their bets on the post for all events other than European soccer/tennis.
12. Where possible players are requested to put down a running total of their bets in their posts, although I'll also try and produce rolling league tables where possible.
13. After a bet has been posted up, one is not allowed to edit it..
14. The bets must be possible to do in real life, meaning for example that if you got a multi, all the odds have to come from 1 bookmaker. You can’t shop around for the highest odds and put them together. "Special promotion" type bets are not allowed

Yeah I remember that..August 2006..the month of the fatal cholera epidemic..that left everyone else unable to post for long spells..wasn't it that or something..must have been:o ;)

4.division! Wow..haven't really got a clue mate..www.n3sport.no have got tables and results I think..don't know how fast they are though. I never venture under 3.divisjon myself (well rarely)..just don't know enough about the teams..

Well I generally don't bet at weekends and mostly do it for something to do whilst I'm bored at work but I won't be browsing at work any more so you'll see a bit less of me. Will still try to enter the Masters each month but there probably won't be much science involved with my selections.

Have looked back at that competiton and seen what went wrong, Finbar started the competition that month (was on holidays) so I guess he didn’t know about the “NO1FAN factor”.

Where did you get that from?
I strongly believe that they won't get into power for many years..
FRP = the "far right" in Norway. Against foreigners and the usual other “bollox”..
They’ve got something like 20% in the polls at the moment, but that usually goes down somewhat when it’s the actual elections. The next government elections aren’t until 2008 and plenty of things could happen between now and then.
Another major thing about FRP is that no-one wants to govern with them and I can’t see that changing anytime soon.
There will almost always certainly be another bigger alternative, either the Central-left (which we’ve got now) or a central-right alternative, but not involving FRP.
But it’s politics..so what do I know..I couldn’t imagine you’d elect Bush twice..but hey..;)

Well, there are thousands and thousands of youth teams, but it dries up once you get to the adult level.
CPFC USA has picked it up after a slow start. They won't make the playoffs, but will finish strong. Beat Bermuda 8-1 the other day. I get games every so often from the league they're in, the USL, on TV but haven't seen them play yet. The closest they get to Atlanta is Charlotte, North Carolina, which is about a 4 hour drive for me. But I don't think the little lady will let me do that.
