I've noticed that he has handed in a transfer request at Fulham... An ideal time to bring him back to us?

Let's be realistic, I doubt if Chris would ever think of re-joining us given the acrimonious way he left us in the 1995/6 season.

According to a FFC supporting mate, Coleman is currently on £15K per week and has been told, no doubt via some agent, that the likes of Leeds or Man City would be willing to double that, hence the transfer request.

If I'd known about this yesterday i'd have asked him myself - I work at TLP in Oxted and he is a regular visitor with his kids and he was in yesterday afternoon.

I wouldn't want him back at 5k a week, never mind 15k. Good riddance.
I liked Coleman very much when he was at Palace. A classy defender who could bring the ball out of defence well. But I also remember his attitude just before he left Palace and it has rather ruined my good opinion. It seemed he could not wait to get away. So I too do not believe he will come back. And recalling his performance at Craven Cottage against us, when he amazingly got the man of the match award, I shall not be too disappointed.

What did he say when he left?, I missed all that because it was when I moved up North for a time and it was kind of hard to get info

It wasn't so much what he said, more what he didn't do.
His performances on the pitch during his last few games when he was just waiting for someone to come in for him were a disgrace to the profession. He simply couldn't be arsed to try (and he wasn't the only one).
It was as if he'd decided that the only way he could speed up a move was to be absolutely diabolical on the pitch.
The real pity was that we just kept on picking him when he should have been made to train with the juniors, where his sulking attitude belonged.

Something about CPFC being a shambles and not knowing what Steve (who was at the time technical director)'s job was.
Steve was (allegedly) annoyed by this, saying of course Coleman knew what he did - they'd met up about it.
I'm afraid Coleman is fairly way down the list of ex-players I'd like back.

Coleman!? - Good player but wrong attitude. I'd rather have his partner Kit Symons to be honest!

Coleman? There are many players, ex-palace or not, that I'd rather see here than him.

Does anyone know what Gareth Davies is doing at the moment? We could do with some toughening up and we havent had a decent psycho for years, and bring back Patterson while we're at it. Seen him play a couple of times for Luton and Ireland at centre back and hes ten times better than he was as a right back.
Lets resign our signings during the summer of 1994, Butch Wilkins, Physco Pitcher and Andy Preece...promotion would beckon?

Gareth Davies is still languishing down in the second division with Swindon. Sadly these days he doesn't play with half as much effort as he used to which is a shame, as he is a reasonable player.
Uncle Ron tried to sign him for Brentford about 18 months ago but he wanted to much money (well so says Ron anyway !).
Patterson (the other one !) was at Dundee but was released last season I believe.

But, to be fair, there were a lot of players at that time who were very disillusioned with the way the club was being run and the fact that we seemed to lack the ambition to consolidate and move on. I think a lot of the fans felt the same way except, unlike Coleman, we didn't have the option of leaving.
But, if he is on 15k we can't afford it and so that's the end of that anyway.
