We're too reliant just on Clinton. We've still got that perennial Palace problem of not enough goals from midfield. Let's hope others can start scoring in the run-in

Agreed plus goals in open play. I think we need another pacey striker with goals in him otherwise they will dry up

Clinton has 13 goals in 18 starts, which is a ratio of 0.72 goals a game which I think makes him the 2nd most clinical striker in the league (Philips is equalling a goal every start).

Most impressive is his record from the QPR game to now... 11 goals in 13 league games.

Makes a fool of a manager (no names mentioned) who would not give him a regular start.

Love Clint

Surely thatís the point of a striker to score goals itís there job after all its like saying we should not be reliant on a defender to defend!

I know what you're getting at, but we were also too reliant on AJ when we went up last time...didn't stop us going up though.

Goalscorers so far this season according to Sky Sports:

Morrison 13
Scowcroft 7
C.Hill 3
Soares 2
Scannell 2
Hudson 2
Watson 2
Ifill 1
Freedman 1
Fletcher 1

Shows we could do with a midfield player or a quick striker to chip in with a few more goals.

I don't know about that - the team is pretty focused around getting the ball in the right place for Clinton to score - Scowie doesn't get many, but you'd be a fool to not recognise his part in the number of goals that Clinton does score.

Clinton doesn't have a particularly powerful shot, or any mazy dribbling skills, but give him the ball 10 yards out with three defenders on him and his back to goal and I'd still back him to score. I don't think there's anything wrong in supporting that.

Just though i'd have a look and see how other teams around the play offs are doing with regard to spreading the goals around their team:

Charlton: Sharing the goals fairly well but don't have a single striker that is scoring reguarly at the moment (Like clinton is.)

Iwelumo 9
Zhi 7
Reid 6
Varney 5
Ambrose 3
Bougherra, Gray, Todorov 2
Sodje, McCarthy, Holland, Sam, McLeod 1

Stoke: Don't have many players that are scoring goals.

Fuller 12
Cresswell, Lawrence 8
Shawcross, Cort 6
Parkin 2
Delap 1

Watford: If King leaves then they may start to struggle

King 11
Henderson 10
Shittu 5
o'Toole, Smith, McAnuff, Francis 2
Priskin, Ellington, Williamson, Stewart, Demerit 1

Bristol City: Don't have a prolific goal scorer and not that many players scoring goals.

Byfield 8
Elliott 4
Murray, McIndoe, Trundle, Showumni 3
Sproule, Orr 2
Vasko, Johnson,Fontaine, Noble, Johnson,Wilson 1
