dat file help!

:eek: My PC runs with Windows XP. A friend of mine sends me files with .dat after the file name. MY PC does not recognise these files, what do I need to view them? Any help much appreciated.

http://tud.at/php/tnef/index.php coverts the file into what ever it should be, save it then upload it.
