Can you imagine either NW or SJ wanting him back, or Bostock swallowing the slice of humble pie needed to admit he was in the best place at Palace?
More importantly he isn't good enough - as a Palace player we would have accepted the frailties of a 16 year and put up with the mistakes, the losses of form and so on while he developed, as a loanee we expect somebody who can do the job now and on a match by match basis be better than the players we have - and at the moment he can't and isn't.

"MATTY FRYATT from Leicester will be going to a championship club CRYSTAL PALACE in January. There are 3 clubs after him and it is common knowledge that he has stalled on an improved contract to keep him at the Walkers Stadium.
Neil Warnock has kept tight lipped on the deal not to ruffle further feathers but has recently been in contact with Leicester over the move.
FRYATT has recently scored 2 back to back hatricks which has done the club no favours in keeping him and a total of 22 goals in all competitions.
His contract runs out in the summer and rather than let him go for free then he will be let go for a fee worth to be around £1.5m in this upcoming transfer window.
Leicester will be looking at other options to try and bolster their squad for the promotion back to the championship although Fryatt will be a huge loss."

No chance - nobody will pay £1m for a player they can have for perhaps less than half that in June. There weren't offers that size in the summer except in the press, the odds of them coming in now have to be minute, if they do we should grab it! We may get half that, in which case I think cash flow will determine whether we sell. If we need the cash now we'll sell, if not we'll hold on as we might match that from a tribunal in the summer if they're feeling generous and it could be worth the risk.

Not impossible certainly, but I doubt Watson would go on that basis. He knows in June he'll have more scope and the club will know that if Watson wants to come to them they'll only have to pay what the tribunal sets. (A rival could offer us £10m, but if Watson turns down the move it won't matter) The only clubs desparate enough to pay over the top in January would be clubs like West Brom, Blackburn or Sunderland who need to find a way to stay up, and I can't see Watson going for that.

With six months on his deal we'll be lucky to better £500k for Watson. Its a tough one - we might still get that from a tribunal in the summer, but we might not. If the bid materialises I think we'll take it, up to Watson then.
The Villa rumour has been around at least 6 months. Could be true. We'd only accept for the money though - we're not going do better than Scannell like for pretty similar.

As soon as the Villa rumours surfaced the last time Palace tied down Sean and Victor by giving them new long-term contracts to ensure they remained Palace players and show our intentions to keep them.
Due to their age they can only be sold if Palace agree to it and cannot be enticed away like Bostock was.

It shouldn't unsettle them - it's not the first time we have supposed to be on the verge of selling Moses, Scannell and Hills, they're used to it. Okay, first time for Clyne, but NW is a good man (or boy!!) manager and I'm sure he'll have a word and tell them straight what the position really is. The actual quote from NW was that he expected bids - which is indeed virtually certain - the press decided to make this expects to sell. We shouldn't be blind however, selling one of these would bring in more than Watson, Kuqi, Scowcroft, Ifill and Fletcher combined (even if making less of an impact on the wage bill), so it might be necessary if the right bid arrives and we need capital.

All depends on why we need to sell. One rumour has it we just have to get some money in this window - if this is true they may have no choice. The other is the only need to "sell to buy" bit. If this is the case then unless we get a real good deal we won't sell as we won't be able to buy a player that would improve the side. There has, however, been a major change recently in that more than one Premiership side are showing an apparent interest. That can only be good for Palace, as it might become a sellers market when it looked like a buyers

A handful of those players would improve and suit our team. Claude Davis would provide healthy and worthy competition for Jose and Paddy, Darren Ambrose doesn't seem afraid to shoot from far distance which is something Nick Carle needs to do more often considering he's good at it, Danny Webber seemed useful for Sheffield United on the occasions that Neil Warnock shifted to 4-3-3 (by useful I mean more effective than Ifill), and Leroy Lita is so much like Clinton Morrison it's uncanny.
In League One I thought Hoolahan was technically brilliant and carried Blackpool to promotion. Why Norwich wouldn't want to fight to keep a player who achieved that record in League One seems silly. But I do have question marks over his ability to improve our team. He was the stand out man in Simon Grayson's side that did very well to survive but when given the chance to improve a side that were hoping to break in to the top half he's achieved nothing. Who's to say the same will not happen in our situation?
I don't know what's really happened to Nathan Ellington. He looked brilliant when at Wigan but for the last four seasons he's looked absolute dogshit. Considering Victor Moses can play in his role I would stay well clear.
I've not been impressed with Lee Martin either. A couple of years ago just before he joined Rangers on loan I thought he would have been the suitable replacement for the unhappy Jobi McAnuff, but whilst Jobi has had a positive impact on Watford's season Lee Martin has only made little impact in his loan spells away from Manchester United. So I don't see how he could improve an already young squad.

Thats cool :p I agree he's quality, but its the financial situation they're in, as soon as the administrators feel the offer is good enough they'll let them move on. Considering the staff aint being paid i would think any offer upwards of a million will be accepted, for any player. Although he loves Saints and might not want to leave.

I guarantee I'm not - but these are two players with chips the size of the Holmesdale on their shoulders. If either turn up at Selhurst Park it will all about trying to get a better deal that they probably aren't good enough to get any way. Play Moses and Scannell in the right way and they will both be better players than either of those two. They are in the Koumas class - occasional sparkle makes them appear good, but when you get right down to it on a regular basis they don't produce.

About 5 minutes a game, and about very other game, I'd agree. If we could afford a play of that kind fine, but if you want a 90 minute a game player he goes missing far too much, far too often. He's scored and made the odd good goal, but I would be really disappointed if he came to Palace. I'd pick Carle, Danns, Ambrose, Moses, Scannell, Cadogan and Comley ahead of him without a second thought, even Derry gives you more, and he's a destroyer not a creator. Same category as Lita and McSheffery, but a bit better.

Okay - so what has he DONE - on a regular basis? Does he score regularly? NO, does he "assist" regularly? NO Is he a "team player"? NO Does he score the odd spectacular goal? YES Does he try to score the spectacular goal - even when a team mate with an open goal is ten yards away? YES Does he make make fancy runs until he runs out of pitch or into a defender YES. He never stays in any team for long because when you strip away the glitz and flash he has done nothing worth the bother.

There's a bloke on HOL who came out with very accurate info re Ambrose & Sears that says:
Wes Hollahan swap with Alan Lee as far as I have been told will be announced in July Norwich are just trying to agree terms with Lee to finance the deal as I have been told we want Wes plus 200k and they get Lee however NW will waiver the 200k if it means the deal goes ahead as he wants rid of Lee.
I have not heard nothing about Gray but do know that we are after a target man but have not been given any names.

We were always linked with Marcus Stewart but ended up signing Gareth Taylor. Similarly we were always linked with Sean Devine at Barnet and ended up with Dougie...ahh what could've been eh?!

Norwich to swap Darrel Russell for Alan Lee. Sammy Clingan to sign for West Brom as a replacement for Jonathan Greening who is off to either Fulham or Stoke. Ben May of Scunthorpe and Jon Parkin are new targets of Gunn also although no offers have been made yet.
I hope not. According to the carrot crunchers on their message board (Norwich 'pink un') Darrel Russell is rubbish.

CPFC Rumours
Firstly read between the lines with news comming out of Selhurst. Moses to Wigan, Clyne to Sunderland, the rumours are comming from Palace not the afformentioned clubs. The reason for this is that the holding company who own the rights to Selhurst Park has entered administration and Jordan is desperate to raise the funds to buy the ground back from the administrators for around £10m. The quickest way is to sell on some promising youngsters at inflated prices by starting a bidding war knowing Arsenal are keen on Moses and Liverpool on Clyne. Only signings comming in are free or on loan all the money raised will be put into securing the ground and the future of the club.

The rumours surrounding Claude Davies moving to Forest are complete rubbish. The defender is interested in a move to Crystal Palace if Nigel feels his Derby squad can do without the player (who is contemplating a reduced wage offer from the club).
Ibrahima Sonko will join Crystal Palace for £1.2m and Michael Tonge will be loaned back to Sheff Utd, initially until January.

This made me laugh ha ha
I just walked past Peter Crouch (hard to miss him, eh, he's massive) and he was on his mobile. I SWEAR he said 'but that's exactly my point, Arsene i can't wait'. that's all i caught, but on my goldfishes life (grans already dead), i'm SURE that's what he said.
Then, on the bus, i realised he wouldn't be a bad replacement for Adebayor, for half the cost. It all falls into place.
