I would think we are in a very strong negotiating position with Pompey for his wage demands. He cannot play another game for them and at his age he cannot afford to lose match fitness.

Purse was great against us on survival Sunday. He gave 110%, scored a goal , kicked Stern John's pathetic one on one off the line (when Ambrose was unmarked) and would have run through a brick wall if needed. At this level he would be could and he is also another leader which is what we need.

All things considered, seems a realistic signing to me.

Sorondo - one of the best CBs I've seen at Palace. Very accomplished.
That's just made me think of Ventola scoring against Saints during the penultimate game of the season before we drew against Charlton. I went crazy, what an important goal that would have been if Higginbottom, or whoever it was, hadn't of scored in injury time!

However my source is confident a deal will be done largely due to evertons costly mistake

Whether his form would change when he isn't alongside a gritty destroyer like Eustace alongside him is up for debate but certainly been a huge plus for Watford when he was on loan with them.

Crystal palace have been chasing down manchester united misfit michael owen for over a month . talks were held at Steves house with owens agent and i spoke to michael on his way out . he said he is 99% going to join.
The Eagles have also held talks with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and lloyd Doyley.

QPR boss Neil Warnock is set to leave Loftus Road after uncertainty regarding his future, with Claudio Ranieri and Marcio Lippi still on the chairman's shortlist. This will be the start of an incredible chain of events.
Warnock, who left Crystal Palace last March for Rangers, is being lined up by Eagles chairman Martin Long, who has been monitoring the situation closely for the past month. This will mean Palace will place Warnock as either director of football or manager depending on arrangements with current boss Dougie Freedman. With this seemingly being likely, Palace will not just stop there but start a massive clearout for Warnock to cement a promotion challenge.

News on Crystal Palace today; talks have been held with Glenn Murray to thrash out terms for the striker. Murray has been offered a new 2 year deal at Brighton and is still considering his options but he is more than likely to go to Crystal Palace although Watford, Millwall, Southampton and Derby are interested in him as well. Craig Forsyth is also someone likely to move to Selhurst Park. The highly rated midfielder was scouted by Freedman on a recent trip to his native Scotland. Others scouted include Derek Riordan, Danny Swanson, Alexei Eremenko and Craig Conway. Freedman is also looking to add a CB, a CM, a AM, a WF and 2/3 CF. Crystal Palace are set to sign out of contract Anthony Gardner and Glenn Murray, who will both be unveiled at the Fan's Forum tomorrow night.
Neil Danns is still mulling over his future, but Leeds have dropped out of the running, since they have lodged an offer for Ipswich's David Norris. Hull also a testing the water with a bid for Norris, but Danns seemed to be their preferred option. Leeds and Hull have priced CPFC out of a move for either Norris or Danns.
There have been several offers for Nathaniel Clyne from lower premiership teams but none that have come up to CPFC2010s £3.5mil valuation. If CPFC2010 don't receive an offer exceeding that they will keep Clyne for another season.
Dougie Freedman is also very keen on John Bostock who Spurs are looking to permanently offload. Bostock, however, is not keen on the deal that would see a massive drop in wages, and a long-term deal.
Dougie's also interested in George Boyd but believes its likely he will be outbid early on, due to the release clause in Boyd's contract. However, Boyd is a Palace fan and local boy which DF thinks might be helpful. DF will have scouts at the P'Boro match, despite being on holiday himself.

Crystal Palace are set to make a massive overhaul on their attack. Aston Villa's Nathan Delfonsou is set to come in on a season long loan with Josh McEachrean also coming in on a season long from Chelsea. Real Madrid are also set to let Juan Lopez leave for Crystal Palace for £200,000 with an option to buy back if the player if he develops well.
Craig Forsyth is also a done deal for £100,000 and will be completed soon also Graig Gardner is a cert to sign on a 3 year deal after his release from Hull City. Jose Semedo will also sign (Charlton fans need to get their heads out the sand on this). Jordan Rhodes will also sign for £650,000 and complete and sign a 3 year deal.
Other targets for Palace include Marco Van Ginkel of Arnhem, Jose Baxter of Everton, Kagisho Dikagcoi of Fulham and Nathaniel Chalobah of Chelsea.
