Kenny Cooper is 'meh'. Not good. Not great. A 'ok' target man. He's the MLS's version of Scowcroft.
If CPF2010 want a good MLS striker, check out Kandji. He had a bunch of Premiership teams sniffing around last year before he got injured. Reminded me of a poor man's Jo: tall, quick, good ball control. He should be going through rehab right now and will probably be ready by the end of August.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macoumba_Kandji
A bit harsh mate. Cooper is not as immobile and utterly useless as Slowcroft was. That being said, wouldn't want him here.
I like Kandji alot. Was quality when he was at the Red Bulls.

Latest Palace rumours:
Morgan Gould and Chris Lines are impressing Dougie Freedman on trial and he is working with their clubs to try and get the deals done as soon as possible.
Palace are awaiting a reply from Exeter after they made a bid of £350,000 for James Dunne a couple of days ago. Earlier today Palace made a bid of £150,000 for Notts County centre back Krystian Pearce.
Palace are also rumoured to be trying to tempt Crawley into selling striker Matt Tubbs. Crawley have already turned down 5 bids this summer for Tubbs (some of which are rumoured to be around £500,000) but Freedman would love to add the striker to the squad.

"Tony Bloom is expected to delve into his pocket again this week with various bids after missing out on Owen Garvan from Crystal Palace.
Another Palace player, Calvin Andrew will be the subject of a £750,000 bid as Poyet hopes to make one final addition to his front line. Should Palace reject the offer for Andrew, Poyet will turn his attention to free agent Shefki Kuqi. Wages will not be a problem as the arrival of Craig Mackail-Smith has seen the removal of a wage structure at GAMEX Arena.
Another potential addition to the Seagulls squad is Valerien Ismael. Poyet is keen to tempt him out of retirement with an offer of a £25,000 per week contract.
The final player on Poyet's radar is new Reading captain Jobi McAnuff. It is believed that a £5,000,000 bid will be handed to Reading in the near future"

Sources saying that Crystal Palace's £150,000 bid up front (rising to £250,000) for Notts County's Krystian Pearce has been accepted.
Palace are also close to bidding for Den Haag's Alexander Radosavljevic. The midfielder impressed Freedman on trial with the club at the beginning of last season, however manager at the time George Burley decided against a move for the Slovenian international.
After being told that Jordan Rhodes is not for sale at any price Palace are expected to make a shock move and bid in excess of £1,000,000 for Burnley's Jay Rodriguez after he fell out with Eddie Howe in pre-season training. This rumour was backed up by him buying a house in the London area recently.

Insider at crystal palace admits that any of there players are up for sale at the right price as they are struggling to pay wages. They must sell and replace with someone on a salary that is capped to help with debt. Free transfers are a must with lower wages. This means they would accept any bid for any of there top earners for the right price. Palace do not want this to be general knowledge as policy as would mean clubs will be picking at the bones. This is from a source on the board were there is disagreement on this policy.

Freedman has also been impressed with Gould, a South-African defender, who is now close to agreeing personal terms on a £ 500,000 deal. The recent arrival of "KG" on a permanent deal has helped sway the move in Palace's favour.
The spending is not yet over. Crystal Palace are tracking an unnamed Arsenal youngster (loan deal) and deals for Freddie Eastwood and an audacious bid for Juan Lopez, Real Madrid, is set to go through.

Crystal Palace will gamble on Antonio Pedroza, he will be offered a contract after impressing Dougie Freedman on trial, Palace will also complete the 6 month loan signing of John Guidetti from Man City to allow Pedroza some time to find his feet.
Anthony Gardner will take a pay cut to join the Eagles. Freedman is yet to make a decision on which other defender to sign.
Gabriel zkan will also join the Scandanavian ranks at Selhurst Park if he passes a medical on Monday.
What?

I know one of the Crystal Palace academy lads, and he swears Palace are in talks to try and bring in out of contract, Nigel Reo-Coker.
Reo Coker without a club, is from Thornton Heath and he was in Beckenham last week.
Allegedly the club and player have been discussing an initial 6 month deal to January.

Antonio Pedroza, who has been linked with Fulham, will join up on trial with Crystal Palace BUT is also in talks with Millwall. Pedroza is happy with either Palace or Millwall but Kenny Jackett looks set to offer him £3,000 more a week at The Den.

Have a friend who knows Tony Finnegan well, Nigel reo Cokers agent.
He said he has a few offers from clubs in the UK and abroad but there is a very good chance he may take up an offer with Crystal Palace on a short term deal (didn't say how long), as he has wants to be closer to his home in London in the very near future as he has a personal "family" issue.

Arsenal who are keen to sign a new Centre Back to bolster their backline have now switched their attentions to influential Crystal Palace Captain Paddy McCarthy, after their recent attempts to sign Everton and England star Phil Jagielka appear to have failed. Gooners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be set to make an offer of around £5M plus striker Nicholas Bendtner on a season long loan. However, this offer is expected to be seen by Palace as derisory, with the player also not keen on the switch believing Palace are on the brink of success and moving to the North London club would be a step in the wrong direction.

OK. How about this:
New Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas, frustrated in his attempts to find a suitable strike partner for £50M misfit Fernando Torres is eyeing a move for Calvin Andrew, of South London giants Crystal Palace. It is thought that the Chelsea boss is a long time admirer of the young striker and ran the rule over him previously while at Porto, and now views him as long term successor to the veteran hitman Didier Drogba. No bid has been made as yet but an unnamed source expects a deal to be agreed.

CRYSTAL PALACE are chasing Leicester City duo Paul Gallagher and Martyn Waghorn after they last week captured defender Alexsander Tunchev from the Foxes on a 28 day loan. Sven is prepared to allow Waghorn to move for a fee of around £750,000 or on a loan deal, but Gallagher is believed to be very much in the Swede's plans. Eagles manager Dougie Freedman is desperate to recruit more players after only 4 permanent signings over the summer which has seen Palace lose their first game of the season against Peterborough. The anxiety and discontent is starting to be shown from Palace supporters as their club look like they may continue to underachieve dramatically this season.

He'd need to make a full written statement of apology in the programme & advertiser and take part in live press conference to verbally apologise. He would need to be on a pay as you play deal to prove he wants to be at the club and he would need to work his nuts off to make me accept him back.
:D That just doesn't go far enough quite honestly. He needs to personally apologise to each and every season ticket holder by visiting them at home by appointment, have Palace till I die tattooed across his forehead, and "I'm Soooooooo Sorry" tattoeed on his chest that he can reveal every time he scores a goal. Barnsley have offered 350k for the striker what was rejected last week.
Where as Crystal Palace have offered 450k for the striker, and no reply as of yet, both clubs have scouted Adam Le Fondre for a couple of months now, and trying to sign the class strikers.
Rotherham chairman has told clubs that he is avaliable due to Adam doesn't want to sign a new deal, so the club would perfer some funding for the decent striker stead of releasing him soon.

- Anthony Gardner signed for a year and may get extended at the end of the season.
- Pedroza will sign 3 year deal at the club tomorrow (monday) and will be avaliable for cup game against Crawley on Tuesday.
- Southampton defender Danny Seaborne is set for a shock move to Crystal Palace, fee to be believed around 500k, due to Danny feels he will not be given a chance at Southampton now, due to new signings.

It is believed Palace will be priced out of a move for the pair on permanent deals but Sven Goran Eriksson will be prepared to give both the option of 6 months at Selhurst Park. Waghorn's move can be made permanent by Palace in January.

He did indeed say that but, he did also say if anyone became available who he might be interested in then he would make a proposal to the board.
Also, i guess it depends on if we lose any players for reasonable bids and if Dougie feels he can get suitable replacements in.

By saying "we will go with what we've got" Dougie puts the pressure on the selling club, because as we're all only to aware every team outside the premiership has to sell players to survive, so if we're the only club in for certain players and have made bids that do not match the selling clubs value of these players then Doug's statement will focus their minds, do they sell at our price or miss out on any transfer monies till the next window.
