How do you know your money Isn't already going towards making a complete and utter **** wealthy? Or do you know all the players personally?

The point I am making is you aren't paying to watch their personalities, but their footballing ability to lift this club to the next level

Several bits of Palace gossip today:

Crystal Palace, Leeds and Ipswich target Joel Ward is expected to sign for the Eagles by the weekend.

Palace are also set to sign an unnamed Manchester United youngster on a year's loan with a view to a permanent move.

Palace have also agreed a deal for Darío Cvitanich. It is expected he will complete a permanent switch in June

Lewis Price is to join MK Dons on a season long loan.

Palace have also made a bid of £100,000 for Kaizer Chief's Siphiwe Tshabalala. Palace could have got him for free in January as his contract was due to expire. But after all the delays he eventually signed a new 3 year deal with KC.

Julian Speroni will sign a new "long-term" deal in order to finish his career at Palace. It is expected he will move into a coaching role at the club after finishing his playing career.

Dumbuya has agreed a deal to join the club. Transfer will announced on 1/6/12.

Bolton have offered to several Championship clubs Chris Eagles on a years loan. One of them is believed to be Palace, along with Charlton, Leicester, Middlesborough and Forest

Manchester United a set to complete the £3m transfer of Nick Powell from Crewe. Ferguson is looking to loan him out to a championship club as soon as he buys him. Front runners at this stage to loan him are Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United are also now close to the capture of Nathaniel Clyne. To stop it from going to a tribunal, the two clubs have agreed an initial £2m fee, rising up to £3.5m depending on appearances.

After the first 5 targets West Ham might get 1 of the other 10 if they are very lucky,

Would not write any of these off as impossible.

Parr will play in Premier League hopefully for us. Sure a few clubs may be interested but no reason to sell him now. If we do not go up we will still get a good fee when he only has a year left on his contract.

Jedi would be wanted by many clubs too but is a vital part of our plans.

Moxey may not be happy with only limited opportunity in his preferred position. With Parsons developing we could let him go for right fee.

Zaha. Bet we have turned down more than one bid.

Murray may not be happy here. It has been made clear that we are looking to sign a prolific scorer which would drop him down pecking order particularly if Zaha is to be played up front. We may not be able to guarantee him a regular spot and a move could be agreed.

Kagisho Dikgacoi has handed in his transfer request at Crystal Palace after a falling out with the management. It is believed that he was told that unless he showed a willingness to improve that he would not play a major role next season. Palace have accepted his request and are willing to cut their losses asking for only half the £600k they paid for him last summer.

With very little interest in the player in England it is thought that Kagisho is hoping to go back to his homeland of South Africa to continue his career.

Crystal Palace are on the verge of completing a deal for Aleksander Tunchev, the defender is a free agent after leaving Leicester City and previously enjoyed a spell at Selhurst Park last season. The club is also seeking to tie up deals for Paul McShane and Peter Ramage who are also free agents this summer, it is likely both will be signed by the club however Birmingham City, Blackpool and Blackburn Rovers are also interested in signing Peter Ramage

Jose Zamora is flying in from Spain to talk to Palace about a move from Real Madrid Castilla, the Barcelona born winger is keen on a move to England but other Spanish clubs are currently circulating the player this summer.

Palace are also looking at loaning Conor Wickham in for the season from Sunderland although a number of Championship clubs are also interested in securing Wickham services on loan for next season.

It's pretty obviously complete nonsense

Palace are hoping to complete the signings of Kim Andre Madsen (Strømsgodset IF) and Kim Bo-Kyung (Cerezo Osaka) by the end of next week. Freedman and the owners feel they have a real shot at the league next year, and the owners are backing Freedman's plans financially.

Palace also confident that they will secure Jo Inge Berget from Molde and James Dunne from Exeter.

Palace will let Ambrose go if they receive a suitable offer, and also expect to lose Clyne. They are also prepared to sell KG, Garvan and Easter.

Crystal Palace youngster Ryan Inniss is going to be joining Aldershot Town on a season long loan next season. Dougie Freedman believes that Inniss needs game time but is not quite yet old enough for the standard of football in the Championship.

27 May 2012 16:25:16
It is believed that Dougie Freedman wanted either Aleksander Tunchev OR Anthony Gardner at Crystal Palace next season. Tunchev has agreed a deal and will be announced as a Palace player on Monday which paves the way for Gardner to join one of the other two clubs who have offered him a contract (Burnley & Middlesbrough)

Joel Ward's move to Crystal Palace will be announced on Monday around Midday along with the signing of Aleksander Tunchev.

Ward's transfer fee is higher than first believed. An initial £500,000 will be paid to Portsmouth up front with another possible £150,000 depending on appearances and whether Palace make promotion.

True (can't think of anyone who is clearly better with a few similar), but an injury stricken one is a waste of an awful lot of money. He has had his best injury free time with us until that horrific sounding hammy. I wonder if there is any truth in that Doug has decided to go for one of tony G/tunch because of that risk?

When it comes down to it he just wants the money (and why shouldn't he?). He kept us hanging until he knew no one else would give him more (must admit, I was fed up with it last summer and he took several weeks to get fit), this time it will possibly backfire on him as he won't be fit for a while and others will be coming into those 'interested teams'.

Chris of Beckenham
27-05-2012, 06:29 PM
Good point about Gardner not being fit after we signed him. He took a long while before he was ready, and think same may happen again if he keeps hanging out for the highest bidder. The fact that he is injured may make it even harder to be fit if he does not sign for someone early next month.

It does make some sense. Gardner is older and has a horrible injury history. Undoubtedly, he is a very good player, but McShane is a talented player who is younger and can also provide cover at right back.

I'd like to sign both, but Gardner's contract surely must be appearance-related.

adrenalin john

I have to say I thought McShane was next to useless at both Sunderland and Hull but have been quietly impressed with him at Palace.

Would love to have Paddy, Gardner, McShane and Tunchev but that's being greedy 3 out of those 4 would still be superb.

It might - if Tunchev is signing we may not want to pay an extra "first coice" (ie more expensive) cb. McShane could offer flexible right side cover as Moxey does on the left. Taylor and Chambers will be a season older as well. Best use of limited funds.

Take your point - but no harder than for a keeper. Depends how badly Aldershot (or whoever it might be) want him. Do hear of players from time to time who seldom train, just play (Ledley King for example). We should do whatever suits us best.

Not always, just with the ones who were not good enough or having fitness worries. Innis is all about game time and he is being groomed for the top with us (like Ashley Cole was when he was loaned to us by the Arsenal). Others were fitness or simply one last chance to show what they could do. I thought Jim Cannon was really young when he debuted marking Osgood, he was a couple of years younger and CHs need that maturity and physical strength that comes with age. If we did not have so many LBs Hills may have done enough to get a contract, but at least we did well by him, keeping him on when injured.
