Palace will be linked to every high profile player not yet signed up by another club for next season - if the Agents have anything to do with it!

Wow. £2.4m for Campo would surely make him the most expensive pensioner in history wouldn't it? Impressive.

Can see Walcott going on loan next season mind; and Dempsey's useful if Fulham go down. Again would file the price quoted there as 'optimistic'

ok then, downright stupid. But 'offishul' transfer rumours in terrible grammar written by schoolchildren who can't even grasp Football Manager are one of the greatest things about being a football fan.

Just been sent this from a QPR fan who picked it up on a web site, it's one of the better ones -

"Confirmed by a well placed insider, knows Ecclestone - Zidane will be unveiled next week and first signing will be some kid called Moses from Palace for £1.5m as soon as they lose to Bristol. Winger apparently.

Looking forward to Zidane - but that much on some kid seems a waste of money, although looks like we'll be spending plenty"

Those rumours must be wrong because I've been told Moses is in advanced negotiations with Spurs - he must be able to multi-task a treat. Of course one of them might be right but lets us hope not.

All the suggested signings of Bostock with him loaned back to us would actually be OK by me - what do others think?

Well it depends if we were going to use him next year or not.
I couldn't see him getting in the team before Watson or Soares, so maybe this suggests one of them is leaving...

An appallingly bad idea.

First, he'd get booed to hell.
Second, it would be potential encouragement to our other youngsters to jump ship.
Third, we've got enough youngsters to blood without blooding someone else's.

Nigelbrag
18-05-2008, 07:36 PM
I am not so sure if all of these players will make a difference to what we already have, lets assume these are replacements for the ones leaving. Stead, would he give us the 15 goals a season Morrisson does, Mills currently on loan at Doncaster aged 20 CB, saw him in the playoffs, looked ok nothing special would he be as effective as Hudson? then we have Yeates possibly to replace Sinclair, this i think could work as we have a player here that may be more suited to this division also as its unlikely Sinclair will return, and finally Westwood as cover for Speroni would be good as he looked a decent keeper for Carlisle also only aged 23. I would say the last two mentioned would be good additions to fit within our budget.

Roger Johnson from Cardiff at centre back - he is quick, aggressive and can play a bit too. Not sure if he'd come and how much he would cost. Cardiff's player of the year so they definitely won't want to lose him.

Westwood would be a great back up to Speroni - but would be want to be? Surely a club could match what Palace would offer him and give him a much better chance of first team football. Would even be kept of the bench by Carl Fletcher!!

I'd be absolutely chuffed if we got him. Looked quality when he came on against Blackpool, running at players and shooting at goal. Obviously didn't get many games as we had Sinclair on loan at the same time and with Scanell being the preffered sub, but with Sinclair now gone I think he'd be a quality signing. Would also enable us to play either Moses or Scanell in their favoured positions. Hope it happens :lux:

His loan only happened because at the time the loan window was closing both Hill and Hills had injuries of indeterminate length and we needed cover at left back. As they both recovered he never got another look in. With Wiggins hopefully on the way back now the position seems well covered.

My source tells me that Warnock felt as if he was missing a 'target–man' style forward and that this was their downfall during the playoff semi–final against Bristol City. Therefore a player like Leo or Clive fits the bill.

The fact that NW is looking for cover for Scowcroft is no news. Clive Platt might be possible - but an aging jouneyman like Fortune-West who's just been released by a side in the Blue Square Premier and who never did make it at Championship level? A player LIKE Fortune-West certainly, but not that actual player. Be honest - why ship out Kuqi if that's the player we'd replace him with?

''Chelsea news:

Mark Hughes will be appointed as manager next week and will be bringing Kevin hitchcock and his other backroom staff with him. it is still undecided whether Steve Clarke will stay or move for more experience.

Hughes will look to bring in a few players to start to mould the squad into his own.

David Bentley and Roque Santa Cruz are certains with other stars such as Dos Santos and prehaps a big name coming in such as Kaka or David Villa.

Leaving the club will be Didier Drogba to Inter however Ricardo Carvalho will not be moving as Chelsea have recently signed him up on a four year deal and the Chelsea board would not let him go for a mere £9 million as the papers have been suggesting. Lampard will sign a long term contract to finish his career at Chelsea.

Fringe players such as Steve Sidwell, Belletti and Tal Ben Haim will move on after having poor seasons at the club with no real promise.

Hughes will look to the Chelsea academy for a couple of squad players and he will give more chances to Scott Sinclair, Miroslav Stoch and Gael Kakota who all have bright future''

I've posted the story below in Hudson thread as replacement for him - who are the 2 players (Ertyl and Jose or....)

CRYSTAL Palace could be closing in on a replacement for Mark Hudson - with assistant boss Mick Jones revealing the potential new signing would be better than the departed captain.

The Eagles are looking to bring in a central defender after Hudson opted to leave on a free transfer, signing a three-year deal with rivals Charlton.

Jones told the South London Press: "Neil's working on one player in particular who we feel would not only replace Mark but would improve what we had."

The Eagles number two has confirmed that a utility player is also high on their summer shopping list.

He said: "We need someone who can cover three or four positions, that's definitely a target for us."

Transfer activity at Selhurst could step up next week when Neil Warnock returns from holiday, but Jones has revealed the Eagles boss has been glued to his phone during his summer break.

He said: "Neil's relentless when he gets his teeth into something and he's keeping in touch with Simon Jordan. They are two determined people.

"I've never known anyone work as hard as Neil does and he's constantly on the phone - I don't know why he goes away!

"Neil's active now and I know he's speaking to two players while he's abroad.

"But I'm always ultra cautious with transfers and have learned not to be optimistic because I've seen them fall through so many times - usually due to loose lips alerting other clubs."

Few more today, obviously looking at 606 and the BBS with the first one.

Crystal Palace are edging ever closer to getting the target man Neil Warnock is looking for.

I have good reason to believe that Jan Koller or Tore Andre Flo could be moving to the South London club within the fortnight.

A Russian friend of mine has also been Reading on Zenit St. Petersberg sites that Pavel Pogrebnyak may be heading to Palace to the dismay of their fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crystal Palace have made an offer for Kris Boyd from Rangers. It's likely that the club do not have enough funds to secure the deal but I just thought that I would pass this on.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks like Rangers are going to offload Kris Boyd if their vauation of around £5 million is met. Cardiff offered £2.5 million and while this was rejected they were encouraged enough to up their offer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The players leaving Barnsley will include Kayode Odejayi, Miguel Mostto and Kim Christensen, Rob Kozluk to Crystal Palace, Anderson the Silva to Hull City, Jacob Butterfield to Coventry and Martin Devaney to newly–promoted Swansea City but Istvan Ferenczi will stay at the club.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P. S to the person who said Steven Taylor would sign for Crystal Palace haha
why would one of the countrys most promising youngster drop down a league to play for a play–off candidate at best?
Taylor AND Owen will sign new long–term deals fact

Heard a rumour from a reliable source today which literally had me stunned. Back in the late 90's Diego Maradona was linked with a shock move to Crystal Palace. Now it seems he's being linked again, this time with a take over bid containing a consortium of him and other Argentine investors.

Simon Jordan has been reported to be looking to sell after a lengthy stay in charge of the club and has apparently been speaking to Maradona's associates in certain London restaurants.

The Argentines supposedly see Palace as a breeding ground for getting accustomed to English football and Argentine talent could be filtered through Palace on their way to playing for the big money clubs in similar scenario's to Tevez and Mascherano.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only CPFC one for today.

But there are some real jokes on there.

Chelsea fan thinks they will get £18m for Lampard when he can buy out his contract as there are less than 24months left.
Other Chelsea fans expecting over £250m to be spent on players like Villa, Arshavin, Ramos (spelt Romas :)) etc etc.

The site is hilarious, I am going to see if there is a way of getting a rumour on there about people on here.

I have postedone and it should appear tomorrow :D

Bristol City news –
Scott Murray is being linked with a seasons loan spell at City's rivals Cardiff City.

Gary Johnson has approached Liverpool with a 3 Million pound bid for Jermaine Pennant.

Hull City have enquired to Bristol City about Bradley Orr. They wanted him on a three year deal, offering Dean Windass + £2 million. The defender turned down the move north, because he wants more than one season in the Premier League.

Gary Johnsopn has also made a sneaky approach to LA Galaxy for David Beckham on loan. Becks is currently thinking about the offer.

Sorry for not making myself clear.

It was supposed to be... Nice to see he has his life organised for himself...

Anyway, I cant think of anything else than being a free agent, no money, no job (officially) and no fans supporting you. I'm 50-50 whether he will stay or not but hopefully he will just as some help to the younger players who obviously look at him to see someone who has done exactly what they have. And also because he is normally a deadly finisher and with a front 3 of him in the centre and 2 wingers from Scannell, Moses and Sinclair, there is more than enough goals to promote a team. But we know that wont be happening.

from football rumours Lee perhaps, but unless Healy is a loan deal, it has to be BS. And we didn't exactly make much use of Nathan Ashton last season (quite possibly a good thing) so Fulham might not be that inclined to deal with us over loan deals again. Then again, Roy might be so keen to get rid of Healy, as well as helping out his hometown club.
