MOORE EXPECTS TO LEAVE COUNTY
by David Allen

STOCKPORT COUNTY striker Ian Moore has admitted that he expects to leave Edgeley Park at some point in the future, with Burnley expected to return with an increased bid for him after manager Stan Ternent confirmed his interest.
The Clarets had a £1 million bid for the 24-year-old refused last weekend, and are expected to return with a bigger offer in the near future.

However, County rate him at £2 million, meaning that the clubs must reach a compromise if he is to move to Turf Moor.

"It is fair to say I have made a bid to Stockport for Ian Moore but we are miles apart at the moment," revealed Ternent.

"I would like him to come and play here, he is a good player. I haven't spoken to the player yet and I don't even know whether he wants to come and play here but I certainly haven't given up hope on it.

"I'm hopeful that, in the not-too-distant future, that he could become a Burnley player and again that would be more competition for places.

"He's the right age, he's a goalscorer and he's a very good player. I think he would fit in really well with Burnley.

"I have enquiries in at other places as well, who shall remain nameless."

Moore himself has now admitted that he expects the club to cash in on him should Burnley make an acceptable offer.

"With the way the club is, we are a selling club," Moore told GMR. "At the end of the day, they may have to sell me to clear some of the debts but I am looking for a move."
