FIFA 09 World League
2 groups of 4 teams.
Top 2 qualify for the semi finals (1st GPA v 2nd GPB, 1st GPB v 2nd GPA)
Semi finals - 2 legged match (2nd place teams play at home first. No away goals. If scores are level after 2 games a third game is played to decide the fixture. ET and Pens are included in the 3rd game - not the 2nd game. Team who finished 1st plays the 3rd game at home)

After reading the main FIFA 09 thread, it got me thinking.
Would people be up for a custom team league? We may even be able to introduce a transfer system of some sort.
...or is that too complicated?

Probably shouldn't just be limited to Europe actually as there are some South American teams and MLS teams in the game. So it's completely open, any team in the world who are 4 stars and below and who are not based in England.

Very true.
We could have a maximum team rating though (by adding up players overall rating) to stop that.

It's a good idea Omen but the problem is you are trying to get people to commit to more games than they already do and at the end of the day people don't want to have to arrange more fixtures and spend the majority of their time on xbox playing "must play" games.
I can understand your frustration at having to wait at the moment but it won't be long before the new fixtures are posted.

A BBS cup Omen, like old times. Get everyone interested signed up then we can pick a team for them out of a hat.
BTW If Kingsey got his finger out we would be able to get the next lot of fixtures, I know teenagers are lazt but cant be bother to take gears of war out of his X Box, hate to see the state of his room:eek: :clown:

Ok I think the general consensus it that we go with a format like this. The Champions League (in a much smaller way!).
So we have 5 so far signed up. 3 more and we can get started.

I know how you feel Omen waiting for 1 or 2 to finish but remember the deadline was 30th November so we can't complain, we'll have to space our games out to keep the interest alive. As for using the Fifa leagues, already been tried, it was the "International league" which I've now dissolved btw, the format/system isn't very good & you end up with some players finishing all their games when others have only played 1 or 2. It's much better through the BBS. A cup seems like a good idea, done on a group/knock-out basis with 8/16 players, probably 8 would be best, but then again I think there was a cup run earlier (lil swanny, I think) & that seems to have fizzled out??
They don't last - they rarely do.

I reckon we should organise a cup between the leagues....Knock out only you will play as the team you are in the leagues etc.....
I was thinking about a cup comp between the two divisions, but wanted to check on reliability of everyone first (hence the first deadline).

Ok so it's time to get under way.
two groups of 4. Top 2 qualify for the semi finals where top place plays 2nd in the other group. You only play each other once in each group. The idea being that we get through a few tournaments quickly.
Same settings as the main BBS league. Only 4 star teams allowed - from any league other than England.
Post your teams in here and can you also PM me your email address so I can make sure everyone stays in contact.

When the game started I noticed that Leverkeusen stats were better than mine, but my defence just seemed to be able to intercept everything you did. Guess that's why the MOM was a centre-back.
Also I think that he is my highest rated player at 86 or something like that.
Also has anyone managed to add kieth the teeth?
It's never a brill idea when someone in the league doesn't post much/at all.

I haven't tried yet. Give Pallet a chance to correct the name first, but if that doesn't work, I'll seek a replacement asap
I think it's Keith The Teeth.
However, he joined a PES league one season, was a nightmare to get hold of and ultimately dropped out.
If you want someone to replace and struggling, give me a shout.

Pretty tight boring game with not many chances. Boca should have taken advantage of a couple of big mistakes from the Benfica keeper, but eventually did capitalise - Palacio finding the top corner when put through.
2nd half didn't have many moments as Boca held on to secure their 2nd win.

Boca 2-1 Espanyol
Very good game. Espanyol's strikers caused Boca's defence all kinds of problems at the start and Tamudo gave them an early lead.
After that it was Boca who attacked most while Espanyol attempted to hit them on the counter. Palermo had a stinker and was replaced at half time and it worked as Boca scored an equaliser through Palacio.
The game looked like it was heading for a draw when Espanyol gave away a silly ball, Noir took control of it, was flatened by a defender, but the ball ran to Palacio who scored his second of the game and his third of the tournament to win the game for Boca in the 90th min.

My console has been steadily getting worse & worse! its failing to read ANY disc's most of the time, it may pick them up occassionally & once it has there are no problems but it's taking at least 30-45mins of constantly opening/shutting the tray. I've logged a repair with Microsoft, so unless it works & I see you online in the next few days it's gonna be at least 2 weeks away for repair they've said :sob:

Fenerbache started very well, but slowly Boca took control. Did look like Fenerbache were going to hold out, but Palermo stole in to score in the 90th min.

No offence to Boyandy - he took his chance - but I can't believe I didn't win that game over two legs! Talk about a superb keeper and a bloody post I hit 3 or 4 times! I felt I pretty much dominated the tie but just couldn't find the net due to poor finishing and superman in goal.
But saying that, I don't want to take it away from boyandy. He took his chance well and defended resolutely to claim the first FIFA World League Title.
Congratulations mate! I'll be looking out for our fixture in Division 1 this season.... ;)
