Malakite - why would I be Scottish? Or am I missing something here?

PROS : I reckon Collywobles would score for fun in div 1. Especially with our team, we have players capable of delivering decent crosses - Black - and he is big and strong. Perfect exactly what everyone has been saying we need, and he'd be free.

CONS: Dodgy mentality, may cause more harm than good for team moral - would need a decent manager to keep him on the rails with plenty of support - is AS capable?
High wages.

On the whole I reckon he would be worth the risk, if he started banging in the goals I reckon he would be the perfect foil for a player like Forsell.

S.Collymore, no thanks. He's crazy.

No way. Sacked at Wolves as kid for stealing training gear and things have gone from bad to worse. He is a walking disaster and that was his last chance. They'll be clubs like bradford, and Charlton who'll would want to take the gamble but his days of being a great player have gone. It's all his own doing.

True story. Palace dressing room before a crucial league fixture. A real six pointer. "OK lads I want you to go out there today and treat this match like a cup tie"

Collymore puts his hand up "Er, boss, I don't think i can ploy, I'm cup-toyed"

(Apologies for the attempt at spelling Brummy phonetically)

Neil, yes, another one!

according to Sky Sports, he's put in a transfer request, and not been sacked. All should become clear later today when Peter Taylor gives a press conference.

As for him coming back, PLEASE GOD NO !

Haven't we got enough problems already????

Just for the record, I was joking about him coming to Selhurst. Surely things are bad enough!

Exiled! What ARE you on?

It's even worse than that.
It was Alan Smith addressing Palace's 2nd string for a mid-season Football Combination match and Colly saw fit to grumble the above reply.

I feel genuinely sorry for Stan Collymore, he was blessed with a prodigious talent for playing football, something I am sure most of us who watch the game would have loved to have had. Unfortunately the man either has an evil streak in him, or is genuinely mentally ill or both.

I have seen him do some very nasty things to other players throughout his troubled career, the most recent, stamping on Paul Gascoigne this weekend against Everton, clearly most referees, colleagues and opponents alike are scared of him, and give him a wide berth. The man is capable of doing some serious damage to somebody one day, either on or off the pitch, and at the age of 29, seems beyond help.I dread to think what will become of him in his later life.

As for coming back to Palace, please God no.

Sadly Stan is blessed with inadequate brain cells,he seems totaly unable to think sensibly about anything. To make things worse he seems to surround himself with hangers on & dodgy advisors. The sad thing is that he has incredible talent & that has been wasted, & i think there wont be too many clubs that will take the risk with him.

Except for the "Paul Gascoigne/Everton" and "29" references, this reminds me of someone else currently uppermost in our minds. One at the back and one at the front? Can anyone think of a faster route to complete self-destruction (including bringing back Mark Goldberg)?

I think I need a lie-down.......

I've just heard that Stan the Spam has been released from his contract. So, who fancies having him back at Selhurst? With his attitude he should fit in quite well just now!

Yeah, with all the alleged discontent let's improve it by adding someone suffering from clinical depression who beats up women.

Hey, let's team him up with Dean Holdsworth, they will be able to become a self supporting woman beating strike duo. Collymore's 14K per week basic plus 6K appearance money should not be a problem for SJ. He will not have to pay out too many of the latter. In all honesty I bet many of us had half a minute of thinking "what if?.." when we read the headline about Collymore.

Hate to say it, but I would welcome Colly to Palace at the moment. He is a class striker and would score us goals. Sure he is a headcase and has a severe attitude problem, but he is not alone in that even in our current team.

He won't come here though, we can't afford his weekly wages/I don't think Smith or Jordan would want him.

I didn't know they had any secure psychiatric units in Leicester?

Perhaps you meant Broadmoor or Rampton

I say sign him!
We're well on the way, with Fan, Ruddock, and Pollack, to having a team of class nutters - the entertainment will be fantastic!
I think we should complete the set, and buy Bowyer (alledged student beater) and Gascoigne (any number of henious crimes).
Where's Eric 'the ripper' Nixon these days?
Oh, and the Hanson brothers from 'Slapshot'.
With Vinny Jones and Hannibal Lecter as coaches, will win the league at a stroll - no other f*ckers would turn up for the game!
At half-time, we could have the new Mitsubishi 'Throwing away fans to the lions' Challenge.
I would gladly pay a small fortune for this kind of 'leisure experience'. http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif

Shock horror !

I agree with Stella.

Collymore would get 20-25 goals for us and whilst I have to say that I abhor violence against the female of the species it has to be said that Ulrika Johnson IS a bit of a slapper who would flirt with a corpse so lets not all be too hasty in judging the man. Especially if he comes to play for us again.
