As a young boy living in Brixton, my first experience of football was at Stamford Bridge supporting Chelsea in the 70's. I moved to Charnwood Road in 1982 and started sneaking in the Palace when Sainsbury's was being built. You all know the rest http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif
Anyone else a convert??

You lived in Brixton and supported Chelsea, AW?
But surely, Palace were your LOCAL team! http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif
I also spent my childhood in Brixton, and I'm sure the bus ride to Selhurst Park is closer than going to Stockexchange Bridge...

I was first taken to watch Dulwich Hamlet when I was 4 years old, and even then I realised non league football wasn't for me, so when I was 5 I was taken to the Palace, At least it wasn't the muppets from Stamford Bridge.

Stella, looking at it that way Palace were the local team, but I didn't even know Croydon existed way back then, used to go with a group from the Ex-service mens club at Battersea so I suppose Chelsea was their local team, but I soon grew up http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

As a kid Sutton Utd were the biggest club.In Sutton where I grew up. However when I was 8 or 9 my dad bought me a Man U shirt despite the fact that I liked Colin Bell of Man City. Thing is a hard bitten cynical Palace fan I can't stand either Manc club.
