Saw an item on Meridian news yesterday that the Palace Pier is being renamed Brighton Pier so that ev'ryone knows it's in Brighton (according to their council!) Must be very confusing for the poor loves!

Lots of local opposition to the move, though - particularly from us exiled Eagles! One of the big three issues for Brighton: Piers, Queers, and Souvenirs! (To go with the million Big Issues).

Great News ! I had a nightmare situation when I had to register the name "Palace Radio" as I was told there were 2 guys on the pier that had a make shift radio station that ran the length of the pier and they had tried to register the name !!

I love it, driving into Brighton, seeing the PALACE PIER in nice big letters. If it does get re-named, I'm sure some of us will change it back after a few beers!!!

The miracle for me is that, given the amount of times that I have 'relieved' myself on the road signs bearing that name, I have never been arrested.

As for the pier, I have heard whispers of a summer 'beano' being organised by a group of Palace fans whose final destination is that very pier where I am sure that any attempts to re-name it will be corrected http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/wink.gif
