View Full Version : Scouting
Can anyone tell me about the current scouting set up ? Are we actively scouting and who is doing it ?
I'm aware that we did not have a system in place whilst in administration, so presumably a new team is in place... ???

seem to recall hearing we had scouts now - e.g. in latvia looking at kolinko before he arrived. Isn't Steve Kember doing scouting now as well?

Damien Matthew ex Palace midfielder is now scouting for us.
This scouting is active worldwide and Norway is just one example of recent visits
'active scouting in Norway'...
So do we have Euro based scouts or are Damien/Kember travelling round Yurp watching games ?

I thought Damien was coaching the under 12s? That's what it said in the programme from last week. He's a busy man isnt he?

That'll be the one Harry!
Great article on him in the Matchday Prog the other day though....
...does anyone know the scouts' names and the areas in which they each operate ? It's be interesting to know who's doing the real 'grass roots' scouting...

Yeah, yeah & I bet you still cherish that woggle don't you ?
So nobody knows anything about the scouting system in place at the club then. Bloody useless bunch.

I wasnt in Scouts. I was much harder - Army Cadets. That's where I learnt to be a marksman and wander across Ashdown Forest in the middle of the night dressed in camouflage outfits for some strange reason. The tiger crawl, the funeral march - learnt all those. You never know when they might come in handy - the crawl is particularly useful when you're pissed. The funeral march for the day after when you feel sh*t. I can still shoot you even if you're 300 yards away if you're at all interested. http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif
TA's mate. Come & ave a go...

Yeah its all running about playing soldiers really isnt it? The only bit i enjoyed was the shooting. 303's (kick like a mule), 7.62's, .22's, a Magnum 44 (that was cool), 9mm pistols, a sterling sub machine gun (like a toy, a lethal toy). The getting up early, wading across ditches full of freezing water, sleeping in leaky tents, that sort of stuff, didnt ender me to a life in the forces. A few of my mates did join up though.
Paintball on a stag weekend this saturday, haven't played for ages. Can't wait - got any camo-paint I could borrow ? Or a Kalashnikov going spare ?

Just go out and buy yourself a Bowie knife. There will be no arguments about whether they took a shot or not!
