Inspirational Palace defender Clint Hill is ready to open talks over a new deal but knows the club cannot make any cast-iron guarantees. The Liverpudlians contract expires at the end of the season and having spent two successful seasons in south London, Hill has told the Advertiser he is keen to talk about the prospect of an extended deal. But due to the clubs financial plight, the left-back knows he is in no position to make any demands. Neil Warnock is unlikely to sit down with any of his out-of-contract players until the turn of the year and Hill said: "I know with the situation at the club they cant make any real promises. But I know the script, if they talk to me during Christmas then thats when it will be. If they talk to me in April then thats when its going to have to be. But Im still a Crystal Palace player and anything with regards to a contract I will leave to the club. No matter what happens I will continue to give 100 per cent for this football club."
