Can anyone tell me about the origins
of the nickname 'EAGLES'.Was it cause
we used to play at the nest or was it
during venebles first reign? Maybe it was
neither?

Starting to feel old.........
Our real nickname is the Glaziers but it was changed to the Eagles by Big Mal in the early 70's to add some "Glam" me thinks.

When big Mal took charge at the Palace he did indeed want to add more glamour.
He changed our nickname to that of Benfica and our colours to that of Barcelona as he wanted Palace to be a combination of these two glamorous clubs.
