Anyone remember the mighty own goal from Jeff Hopkins? Beautiful lob from 30 yards...
Could it be better own goal??

Richard Shaw in the 2nd minute away to Southampton.

Comical.

David Tuttle at Man City - a bullet header which gave our 'keeper (Day or Nash? I can't remember) no chance at all.

Gary Rowett's (Birmingham home season before last) injury-time equaliser for Palace was hilarious, surreal, unexpected... most welcome in the early post-Venables pre-administration mess.
I remember dancing down the aisles for that one..

Jeff Hopkins' v Millwall one was pure class - almost matched last season by Tony Mowbray

Didn't George Best score an own goal in 1977 after he broke Ian Evans' leg. Wasn't a classic goal if I remember but a collector's item? Anyone confirm this? (Header on the goal line from a corner?)

Can't remember who it was against, but Ninja Young scored a classic by deflecting it past our keeper with his todger some years ago.
Its preserved for all time on the 'Great Own Goals and Gaffes' Video.

Leif Anderson v Leeds, lifted his leg up like a Tiller Girl.

Deano v Stockport, great diving header.

Ninja v Everton, another great diving header.

No, our second goal in the 3-2 defeat was direct from a corner.

Nothing can compare with Jeff Hopkins supurb effort for Millwall that day. The best thing about it, he was under no pressure in the first place.

This is most definitely the "best" own goal I've witnessed. We were still singing "one Gary Rowett" at 2am in a club in Maidstone that night - which was nice.

Possibly late 70s early 80s Palace at home to someone in blue, maybe Leicester. One of their defenders volleyed home a corking own goal under no pressure at all. Left us all stunned. Or did I dream this.

That was certainly the most enjoyable!

Rowett's was indeed a classic - and I seem to recall that Tony Mowbray's one was pretty good at Selhurst last year too !

rowetts the best for us

jeoff hopkins the best against, especially as in the end it didn't decided the result

Best non-Palace OG must be Lee Dixons! Spotted Seamen off his line and dinked it over him into the top corner!
