Gary O

I was out at the weekend at a west end show, spotted and spoke briefly to Shaun Derry, who was dressed in a gay manner, with cropped, hair silver ring etc. he was very cosied up with none other than BEN WATSON. who was dressed VERY Gay, total cropped hair,Jeans, white t shirt and timerland boots. (Very Jimmy Summerville like) and looked very sheepish to have been spotted out with SD, not a woman in sight. I may be making something out of nothing here, but it did look very obvious, with SD in the dominant role.

Luckily he doesnt have a **** of an older brother to publically disown him and drive him into the depths of depression so it's all good.

If I were Derry I think I'd go for Danny Butterfield. He looks like a cuddler.

I remember reading a piece about how his wife was getting fed up of his long hair which he wouldn't cut due to a bet or something when he was at Leeds.

What a crock of shite this thread is. I'm amazed it hasn't be closed yet. A few things spring to mind

1. Why does two mates being out, dressed in the way they were, mean they are gay?
2. Who cares, even if they are (which they're not). Why the need for 'gay' to be written in capital letters, like it's unacceptable or something
3. You have to be pretty stupid to try and out our current captain and ex-player on a public message board based on nothing but your own immature views. Unless you're extremely rich or have some great lawyers.

By the way, I'm not gay. And I own at least two cardigans. And I'm only 27.

I'm going to go and be gay with my best friend because we wear pointed loafers and have a confident manner.Ooops. I'm out the closet. I was called gay because I use hairstraighteners. & I wore a pinky/purple T shirt in the summer. The camp side of me calls it fuschia.

But I just can't bring myself to bum or be bummed. Nor do I fancy blokes. But I must be gay due to the above criteria.

This is a joke of a thread. The only person to come out of this badly is Gary O, who's looked like a right plonker. Everybody else knows its nonsense. Therefore, what harm is the thread doing? The thread's been moderated by itself, through posters correctly telling Gary O that he's being a tool.

My thoughts were simply, and to quote, "Defamation is a generic term which includes libel (written defamation) and slander (spoken defamation). In terms of the BBS it is a statement which might harm someone’s reputation by exposing them to ridicule or contempt; cause them to be ridiculed or held in contempt; or lower their standing in the estimation of the general public.

I hate it when that happens. You're out having a drink and your attention is distracted by two outrageously handsome and well dressed guys standing together at a bar. Their clothing pristine and emphasising every curve on their body. Their tight jeans showing off their pert, cute backsides. You want to go over and join them but you know they'd probably think you're some kind of weirdo and wouldn't be interested. Don't worry, you'll find someone one day.

It is good to see so many people having a modern and adult attitude about the topic, and I would hope this would be supportive to gay professional footballers out there, as obviously there must be plenty statistically speaking. I find it very disturbing that no1 has gone on the record about being gay since Justin Fashanu, who obviously suffered as a result but I would like to think there would be less of a cutting backlash these days. Of course there would be things to face, but I think if there are any gay footballers out there, they should consider coming out say in their final years as a player, especially if they are a recognised name. If it all became too much (any backlash) then they could retire, even move abroad if neccessary and still not lose out on much money playing career wise. Just a thought though.

I agree re: Derry in the sense that I hope he sees the reaction to the topic (which I doubt you would get on a Millwall site) and is adult enough to not bother taking legal action against the small minded thread starter, which would also be a win for free speech and the general operation of internet forums.

if there are any gay footballers out there, they should consider coming out say in their final years as a player, especially if they are a recognised name. If it all became too much (any backlash) then they could retire, even move abroad if neccessary and still not lose out on much money playing career wise.
Well, that's what Oscar Wilde did.

I wish all our players were gay if it meant they were as good as Derry
