View Full Version : Warnock: We need to start putting our chances away

CRYSTAL Palace manager Neil Warnock believes his miss-firing forward line will have to be more clinical in front of goal if the Eagles are to get anything from their next two games.
Goal scoring has been the main problem for the Selhurst Park outfit this season.
They have found the net only 13 times in the league, the third lowest total in the division. Only Reading and Swansea have scored fewer.
Palace missed a whole host of chances in the second half of last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest and Warnock knows they cannot be so wasteful when they travel to Preston this weekend and Queens Park Rangers next Tuesday.
"If we finish like that again it will be very hard for us to pick up any points from these two games," he admitted. "I was delighted with how we played against Forest but the finishing is letting us down badly at the moment."

If Stern stays fit I reckon he can bang in 10 goals for us.

I thought he looked really tasty on Saturday.

Oooh, tasty.

Tasty indeed!

Judging by what I saw on Saturday he also looks more mobile than Lee and, dare I say it, more able to bring others into play, simply because we didn't use the obvious hoof ball option to him quite so much...

Stay fit, Stern... :p

And I think he will be a great mentor to some of the players too, like Moses, Andrew etc

Gently stroked maybe

Spot on.

.. it would have been had the date of the article had been January 2009. A bit late for this discovery don't you think Neil?

let's create more chances then. Play more attacking players NW. You've got the balance wrong.

Don't blame the strikers when the keeper pulls of a top-class save from our only chaNCE OF THE HALF.

Forest keeper is top-drawer.

Did we really create that many chances against Forest? I thought a draw was a perfectly fair result

Exactly. Maybe we created one more chance than them and all of a sudden we're real-bloody madrid and should have finished it as though it was cristiano ronaldo with the chance.

Face facts we are crystal palace and thus creating one more chance doesn't mean we deserve to win. We need to create 10 more chances than the opposition every game to deserve vitcory.

Resign Clinton.

How does demanding Clinton leave Coventry help?

Seriously, though, when have we ever created 10 more chances than the oppo ?

Cadogen is a good punt scored for us before I reckon he'll do a better job then MR Alan Lee.
