The Football Association could face a £900,000 compensation bill from Chelsea after midfielder Frank Lampard suffered a thigh injury while on board a "cramped economy jet".

They shouldn't be suing the FA for £900,000 either. Twots

Get up and walk about a bit if you're feeling a bit stiff in the legs. I would have assumed he understood this being a top athlete.

True. He's on £100,000+ a week. What's he doing in economy, the tight bastard

They chartered the plane. There might not be business class.
Anyways a top athlete should be able to look after there own body -- it's basic knowledge FFS.

If I was on that I would still expect the FA to pay for a decent flight. It's not a question of status, it's science - the man is paid to run around and kick a football. Investment in his physical condition is investment in his performance.
Lampard gets a bit of a bad press. He doesn't really seem like that much of a bad bloke - and it's Chelsea that made the complaint, not him.

.
He doesn't have to play for England -- and where is the proof that flying economy is detrimental to performance -- -jsut get up and walk around the aisle every half an hour FFS. Better than sitting in business getting pissed.

They probably paid for a budget line because Warnock's kept his mouth shut for a while, income dried up a bit through not having to issue any fines. Chelsea shouldnt worry, Ferguson's just got fined £20k, first class is back on.

Frank Lampard winds me up for some reason, I'm not sure why. I just find him extremely irritating.

Disappointing thread title. With the writing style you were using, surely "Franky Wanky...." would have been better?

Ask his ex and his kids.Man splits up with partner shocker. Much as I dislike Chelsea, I think Lampard gets an unfair press, and it pains me to say it but I make GUCCI right.

When asked how he hurt himself did he pause for a while, and then suddenly remember to point skywards?

Is it not possible he strained his thigh whoring himself abroad, like he normally does?

What the **** does he think he would be flying if he wasn't ridiculously overpaid for kicking a ball around a pitch.
Suing for a weeks wages ? Don't chelski pay when a player is injured then ?

Surely Mr. Lampard can afford his own plane? One is now far superior to the majority of people. Including the F.A; who obviously run their own airline exclusively for one's colleagues' benefit, though detrimentally in this respect, what? Tally ho old bean! Just off to shoot some pigeons in Trafalgar Square...oh, do they have a landing strip nearby to accommodate one's jet?

Me too but that's only because he's currently knocking off Christine Bleakley, which means he can probably smell Adrian Chiles on her, something most of us mere mortals can only dream about

Also its what a BA 777?
Plenty of seats for whole squad in Business & Premium Economy with plenty of leg room. The Blazers should sit in the back.
Also surely each player even if for a very stupid reason they are stuck in the back could on a chartered flight have a whole row to themselves.
Normal BA economy is not good for long journeys (like Ryanair for 1+ hours) if you are any way tall. I presume Fat Frank is actually rather tall.
I just bothered to read the link.
Flying that distance ina charter jet meant for the Cotsas is stupid - yet again the Soho Sq boys get their priorities wrong. How much was that Swedish bloke on after he was no longer manager as someform of compensation?
A receipe for DVT. Yes they should have been walking around the plane.
