I think he did it for Hull before we signed him (which is WHY we signed him!) then Oxford after we sold him. He clearly loved Palace.

John Salako (Clownton)
Not goals but Kevin Miller & Nigel Martyn saved penaltys.
As for scoring a goal, heres one you may not have thought of, John Fashanu.

After much thought about whether he was useless or not I have decided that Chris Armstrong needs to be added to the list anyway.

Sagi Burton.
A quick summary so farÉ
In the last five seasons or so
Stuart Massey, Gareth Taylor, Tony Scully, Sagi Burton, Andy Preece, Jeroen Boere, Paul Williams, Alex and Bruce Dyer, Steve Claridge (at least twice including 'that' winner), Geoff Thomas, Andy Thorn, Eric Young, Martin O'Connor, Matt Jansen twice and in successive games, Marcus Bent, John Salako, Ian Wright, Chris Armstrong, John Fashanu and George Ndah
plus Miller and Martyn both saved penalties
21 ex-players
2 ex-keepers Ð I'm really dreading Carlo's next visit
JEEZZZZZZ
Why don't we do what they did in The Prisoner Ð build a Village in North Wales or somewhere full of ex-Palace players who are not allowed to leave.
'Who is number one?' Nigel Martyn of course.
By the way Messrs Astin and Smith we're looking for 'a new number two'

Lee Bradbury.
Can't believe people have been suggesting we get him back. He was pants.

Oh yeah, and Andy Gray scored against us for Spurs in front of the Holmesdale - Ruddock took great pleasure in taunting us all about who had scored (we'd been booing Gray all afternoon). I might let Ruddock off for that now though.
On the subject of Ruddock, a funny(ish) story - when a non-football supporting bloke in my office heard me saying that Palace had signed Razor Ruddock, he said: 'Raisa? That's a funny name. Like Mrs Gorbachev?'
I laughed a great deal.

Supa Ol from Bromley. How can you say Lee Bradbury was pants. Leif Anderson was pants. Jaime Fullarton is pants. Craig Foster was pants. Tommy Langly and Tevor Aylott were pants. Are you saying he should be put in the same category as them? No way Jose. He was far worse than any of them. He was big girls smelly pants. Anyone who says we should BUY that dick is MAD.
It is true. Take the two "r"'s out of his name and what do you get.
BADBUY
I rest my case

Actually you're right, Barney. Badbuy was indeed super-double XXXL smelly girls pants, but even he was better than Neil Emblen, who I believe has scored against us for Wolves. That bloke was the ultimate in unhygienic undergarments.
Neil, yes, another one!

can someone remind me what happened to Leif Anderson...

He was last spotted holding up a flyover or whatever it is that large, heavy, immobile things do in their spare time.

Every ex player. Its written down in stone if you have left Palace and you play against us, you with either have a blinder i.e goalkeepers, or score against us.
Its just like teams that are on loosing streaks play Palace, they will win. And so it goes on.

That's technically known as the "Shrewsbury Town" principle. Look at any final league table from the eighties and if you see a team that won away from home just once all season, there's a 50% chance that the win was against Palace at Selhurst (and was 0-1).
Brett

Elwiss, I thought the Shrewsbury Town priniciple was high flying Palace going to grounds where the home team are relegation fodder with no home wins all season, resulting in a 2-1 win for said home team?
ElwissAtMemphis
10-05-2003, 05:12 PM
I think it works both ways. Perhaps I'm over-elaborating; I think the principle just states that if Palace play Shrewsbury, they lose.
Brett

Well we lost at home to hapless Derby this season by a goal to nil, so perhap's it just comes under the far reaching umbrella of the Palace principle... ;)
