C'mon all 4 stands get behind the team/club for 90 mins on saturday whatever the result, i think we've had alot of commitment from the manager/players in this very difficult season. So lets give them some commitment back in total vocal support on saturday ala second half at coventry:lux: , "neil warnocks red n blue army", "we love you palace we do", "by far the greatest team the world has ever seen" which we are imo:D :p .

Let's stick with proper chants rather than some of the ones that are just sung for fun.

Coventry was back to the traditional chants with a bit of Seven Nation Army thrown in.

And it was perfect.

. . . and by the way, at the risk of playing the cracked old record again, there are seats aplenty at the back of Block V in the Arfur. My understanding is that the restrictions have been lifted. So if you're in the mood to boost the lads when they most need it, why not get a ticket up there? You know it makes sense. ;)

Been really impressed with the arthur this season. Had never sat in there much before this season and because bizarely it costs an extra fiver to sit in the other 3 stands with a selhurst 12 ticket, we have been in there every game. It really is good and loud, even when half empty. Should be good to hear it with a bigger louder crowd in for the next few games. :lux:

This would be a quantum leap in raising the atmosphere at SP - and it surely can't be that difficult - all it would take is a few of you WL Enders just shouting out Eeeagles at a corner or just singing along to 'Red & Blue Army' and all of a sudden you will have made an impact.

[QUOTE=deftones_eagle] If you're 'thinking' about buying a ticket, buy one! /QUOTE]

We need to reiterate this.
Never has it been more important to come to games than it is at the moment.
I'll say it again, if you only come to a handful of games in a season, make sure it's the next few!
If you want your club to be here next year, you've got to be proactive and actually turn up to support the team.

There's a lot of lapsed fans out there and we need you back during what is undoubtedly a difficult time financially for the club.
This is no time for apathy I'm afraid.

Come to Selhurst on Saturday and you won't be disappointed, I assure you.

I'll be singing as ever but it would be great to see the Whitehorse and Main stands getting involved on Saturday.
One taste of the kind of atmosphere that CAN be created and the whole of Selhurst may never look back!
So even if you start pipeing up on your own when you hear other blocks going for it, just keep going until those around you eventually join in and remember the fun your having there and then.

Cov away was the bench mark (i honestly cant remember the last time Palace fans were so loud and non stop that the players and bench started looking over), time to top it : )

True Palace songs that capture the spirit of following Palace.

I remember the atmosphere at Selhurst and away games being electric during our time in administration.
It showed that Palace fans have true spirit when it really counts and i think right now is another one of those times, not as bad but we're certainly not in the golden ages.

Apart from Watford which was pretty dire, we have had some great atmospheres recently, especially Boro at home and Cov away (which was incrediable!)

I think there were a few 'we can see you sneaking out' chantsat some of their fans trying to avoid the crowds at the end too. Credit to the scousers, they showed a lot of respect for our support that night, and were quite gracious in the wake of our team's humiliation.

I think it's another example of what separates us from other clubs - even years later, 9-0 was a chant that opposition fans would use to wind us up. They just made themselves look like cocks though, because it was one of the most memorable nights in football I've ever witnessed. Liverpool were as sublime as we were terrible, and the atmosphere was amazing. And it proved to be the catalyst for a Dunkirk-esque turnaround typical of Palace whenever the backs are to the wall.

Hurry up bar tender can`t you see this crisp new note i wave? i`m wearing my sunday best and i`ve had a clean cut shave

Hurry up and serve me it`s nearly 2 o clock, can`t be seen with these vagrants that congregate in the b block

Singing songs and bouncing around, why can`t they just watch the game like me and not make a sound?

I`ll mumble under my breath about the temperature of my pie, and the long queue at the kiosk, not like old times gone by

I`d better take my seat, in the nice part of the stand i must add, paid good money for this and have done so since i was a lad

We`ve scored a goal, though i wont shout or cheer, it`s bound to take a turn for the worse, though i can read you back the contents of my program chapter and verse

Best leave early even though we`re one up, the bbs awaits my verdict on how we nearly ****ed up.

What percentage do you think the BBS makes up the crowd at Selhurst?

I'd say a very small minority. Add in HOL and the percentage may go up a little bit, but word needs to get out beyond two message boards.

Hopefully, this will be done ready for the next game.

Come on guys (and girls), nobody said this was going to be easy. On a day when there was no spark in the team, it was always going to be difficult to raise a decent atmosphere. We even went quiet in the AWM at 3-0 down! As Barbara says, it's only a minority who go on the BBS and would have signed up for the current drive to improve the atmosphere at games. I think this was best demonstrated by the call on here for a standing ovation for the players when their names were read out, rather than the disjointed cheers we normally get. It was a great idea but it didn't really happen because not enough people were aware of the idea. We need to keep going and we need to keep trying to spread the word.

However, it wasn't all doom and gloom (atmosphere-wise). Songs from the back of the Arfur were spreading nicely throughout the whole stand, thanks to the stirling efforts of several paticipants stationed at strategic points in the main body of the stand. Keep up the good work, it makes a huge difference to the overall effect.

We could also hear a song starting from block F (I think) of the Holmesdale, which was great. Again, keep it up.

PERSERVERENCE REQUIRED.

We WILL get Selhurst rocking.

In the meantime let's raise the roof at Reading. Non-stop, unwavering support for the team, no passengers please.

I still think it's mainly down to the fact that not enough people are aware of the new pricing structures.

I was out to dinner with a Palace fan last night who has moved away from the area, so doesn't get much of a chance to go really. We were chatting about Palace and he said he rarely thinks about going now, as it is too expensive. He said he always makes sure he gets copies of the local rags sent to him, so he can read about Palace and what's going on.

I explained to him about some of the new pricing policies, and he said he didn't know anything about them. I told him he could have gone to the Donny game for £10 and he said if he'd have known that, he'd have come along with a couple of his friends.

It definitely needs to be advertised more. Not everyone, in fact I'd say a small minority, of Palace fans read forums like this or keep in touch via the official website.

Point is that Croydon has never been a one-team town and never will be. We draw support from a huge area (or rather at the moment we DON'T draw support from a huge area!!). Don't forget we have been in a worse situation in terms of crowd numbers (early --> mid eighties) and still bounced back. We need to try and galvanise that support, not just whine and whinge about the situation.

The weather and the problems with the trains might have affected the crowds. This isn't a quick fix. If we can get the crowds to increase steadily match by match then that will be a great achievement.

The catchment area is huge. The problem is a certain person(who is such a hero to some on here) alienated a massive chunk of our support in the early 80's and they never came back.

It definitely needs to be advertised more. Not everyone, in fact I'd say a small minority, of Palace fans read forums like this or keep in touch via the official website.

I think that is indisputable, 90% of the posts on here are from a hundred or so posters. (if anyone disagrees, it would really be interesting to see the actual frequencies, if someone is prepared to do the hard work).

Building the support is a long-term thing, Tony may succeed in getting a response at the Ipswich game, in the context of the club in dire financial straits, (lets hope he does), but it needs to be sustained.

One of the problems is actually measuring progress in the size of the crowds; nobody knows until the season ends, how we are doing, even then it depends on so many random factors. Doncaster was always going to be a small crowd, how small might it have been without Tony's heroic efforts and all those deals ?

I think we will only see (possible) real improvement with the departure of the present regime. We need a new owner capable of investing modest amounts in the playing staff, restoring general confidence and well-being amongst the fans, and some clear ambition (not endless fire-fighting like now).
We need a REAL new start, not Dom saying he's now ready to talk to fans reps.

Disappointing yesterday, but good effort from orpington :p

We have 13 days until Barnsley. Basically we have this week for those who live a distance away from the ground to fill in the form & post to the box office for the £10 offer.

See the thread: http://forums.cpfc.org/showthread.php?t=192993

So anyone who knows any potentials who may go for it at that price, then now is the time to let them know.

I have already got a few in for the Barnsley match who jumped at it when I told them.

I stood for the first 15 minutes trying to get people to sing. Was then told by a steward when I went for a pee that someone had complained they couldn't see.

I can't believe you're actually surprised by nobody joining in with you in block d & people moaning about you standing, you have to be realistic & you're living in a dreamland if you think it wouldve gone any differently.

the reality is there are two pockets of support in the stadium who stand and try and sing, if you are serious about helping to improve the atmsphere mate move your ticket to block b with us for the Barnsely game mate, add your voice and actually do something about it.

No banner, flags drum etc, hopefully we can get this sorted out after the meeting with the club.
So many of block b banned/staying away as have had enough of recent events that it's hard to get things going without over half our hardcore missing. the reality is that people are not joining in with most songs and simply don't want to chant, very few other people are stepping up to the plate and getting involved now.
Frustrating more than anything as we know that with more people involved we could have the holmesdale ******* rocking. there must be people out there just a case of reaching them and getting them actively involved in stuff, but for all the people who talk the talk both online and in pubs very few actually follow through and do something about it.
3-0 loss yes but even before the first goal, apart from the lads and lasses in the AWM selhurst was like a fookin morgue
