Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has announced that he will offer up a £4million transfer kitty, believing that with a few new players the Eagles can secure a place in the top ten. The club are currently 19th in Division One.
Jordan said: "We need three or four more players and there is plenty of money available. A striker will cost £2million and we need a playmaker, who will cost another £2million.
“I've already spent £4million and if I can get that spending up to £8million I think we'll be okay and will finish in the top 10,” he believes. The club has recently bolstered its squad with the signing of Craig Harrison and Aleksanders Kolinka.
Twenty-two-year old Harrison joined the club on loan at the start of the season and has now signed permanently from Middlesbrough for £200,000. “I am pleased to have completed the signing of Craig, he has looked a very good player and it has always been our intention to make the deal permanent,” said manager Alan Smith.
The club has also agreed terms with Skonta Riga for the transfer of Latvian international goalkeeper Aleksanders Kolinka for £600,000.
At the time Jordan hinted that there were further signings to come, saying, "I have already spent over £3 million on transfers since I took over the club and these two bids continue to show our intentions of making Crystal Palace a real force in football at the highest level as soon as possible".
