No doubt it was 0-0 at the time of placement, if Peagle had looked for in running odds they would probably have been slightly bigger than the odds he took (so it would have been possible in real life) and there is no question he was trying to get an advantage by posting it up late, in fact he even drew attention to it.

I think the key point is that at the time of placing the bet the odds would have lengthened, so he actually lost out by posting late rather than gained any sort of advantage.
As we allow betting in-play, should be mentioned that people should really look for in-play odds in the future though, if they are slightly late.

Nah I agree..especially since we allow IP bets now and the odds would have been same or even better.
And he was very honest about it. Only slight thing is the fear of presedence for later bets. But in this case not a problem.

It's not a BM rule I think he means that you would not be able to make that bet in real life because the bookmaker would see them as "connected" events. i.e if one happens then some of the others may be more likely.

Agreed. What's more because the odds were apparently so good I nearly bet on all outcomes and I could have lost hundreds. :eek:
When they were 2-0 up I laid no more goals on Betfair, so I got my stake back when Denmark scored. So When Japan got a 3rd I won on that market as well.
Mind you I was unlucky with the bookings match bet in the NZ vs slovakia match where I would have won around 60 points but the NZ player took his shirt off in the 92nd minute after their equaliser.:grrr:
