Hi everyone,

I am interested to know what formation George uses, I like most of you have heard that he likes passing football that is attacking. Well so that I can do better at suggesting what loan players would be suited, then I would appreciate your answers.

5-5-0 please, espcially at home, but keep it compact, wingers are wasted here.

As long as he doesn't employ that ridiculous tactic of all 11 defending corners and free kicks then I don't really care.

Good job we didn't get Coleman then, he said thats what he does with his teams whilst commentating on the Italy v NZ game.

I just hate it. The most ridiculous commonly used tactic in football by miles.

Thank you

So it is 4-4-2

Does he play wingbacks or not, does he use defensive midfielders ????

Please don't post unsubstantiated rumour on the BBS. Just adding 'alledgedly' really doesn't make it ok.

EDIT BY ME: Sorry about that.

That was a narrow escape then, I heard Chris Coleman on the TV going on about how he always prefers 11 back.;)

Edit: whoops, see someone beat me to it.:o

Pint of heavy, whiskey chasers and plenty of water to prevent a hangover.
He knows how to play decent football, formation will depend on the players he has available, he has a better record then any manager we have had in many, many a year.

I've looked at his 06/07 and 07/08 seasons with Southampton and it seems like he started the first season with a 4-4-2 then switched to a 4-3-3, then converted back to 4-4-2 for the second season with Rasiak and Saganowski up front although sometimes Wright-Phillips and John playing too. All of these are based on lineups, not that I've seen them play or anything.
