...why don't ITV and BBC show one each? I've always wondered this in big tournaments. Is there some sort of regulation or rights issue?

That's true, but that wasn't always the case, and still only 1 match was shown

ITV4 showed one of the other games earlier, when ITV1 was showing the so-called major game, and 46 Minder fans complained

I think the dates and times for games that ITV and BBC are going to show are decided even before the World Cup draw.

I guess it allows whoever has that date & time to choose which game they want to show on their major channel.

I know when I was living abroad they did it the same way but as they didn't have two channels, just the single game got shown.

It's bloody annoying for me here. If both were on terrestrial I could watch them at the same time.

Oh well, a few of the games aren't that interesting anyway.

Anyone with a computer in the same room as a tv (be it laptop or desktop) can watch both matches at the same time. ITV4 and BBC3 are both online. As for the USA game tomorrow I will be using P2P to find myself a stream for that :D

I switch between two matches via a button.

If I'd paid millions of pounds for exclusive rights, I wouldn't be letting the competition have any of it either.
