PalaceSince2004

Don't know what formation we will play but lets assume we play 4-4-2:

Goalkeeper: Julian Speroni
Right Back - David Wright
Left Back - Nathenial Clyne
Centre Back - Paddy McCarthy
Centre Back - Adam Barrett/ Claud Davis (if back from holiday)
Right Midfield - Darren Ambrose
Left Midfield - Kieran Djilali
Centre Midfield - Neil Danns/ Liam Bidcutt (trailist)
Centre Midfield - Andy Dorman
Forward - Dean Morgan (trailist)
Forward - Calvin Andrew/ Sean Scannell/Alan Lee

Anyone think different?

N'Diaye?

I think everyone on the books will get a game. Probably try a couple of formations as well. Hardly worth worrying about it to be honest.

Yes, he's in France at the moment. Their first game is on Sunday. Clyne won't be playing against Chelsea.

Rather a right footed defender playing on the left than a left footed striker playing in defence. Clyne is versatile enough to play left back. As is Wright from the sounds of it. Which I guess he'll do if Clyne is away with the U19s.

We have 3 fit available defenders do we not?

Wright, McCarthy, Barratt. Davis is not back in the country i don't think, Clyne is in France with U19s, Jordan is still under a truck.

However we do now have 2 trailists full backs according to another report so might actually be able to play a back 4 now.

That's Calvin Andrew at LEFT wing back!

He is left footed so whilst wing back would be an unusual position, the left hand side makes a little sense.

Interestingly when getting my badges the senior coaches would always argue that if playing wing-backs you should put a winger there over a defender. Which i thought was interesting.

They might see this as a good opportunity to slowly bring Essien back from injury, and to give new signing Yossi Benayoun his Blues debut.

As it is, I expect to see Ross Turnbull in goal, and the likes of Brumi, Kakuta and a load of others I've never heard of out on the field.

Nope has a little job running some Academy for a guy called David something or other, oh Beckham that was it. Might know what he is talking about at a guess.

Like to see other peoples suggestions seeing as pretty much EVERY other team i have seen posted up includes a player in France with England U19s and a guy who is yet to return from Jamaica as far as i am aware.

It wasn't a team i thought would be the best team in the world ever it was a team based on the massive shortage of squad we have at the moment. We have lots of central midfielders at the moment but little else.

Not if we play like we did last night!

Given the opposition - and the 14,000+ crowd that is now being predicted - I was hoping for a relatively 'settled' team, but I think that is now unlikely given that Mr Burley is hopeful of new signings before the weekend and Clyne is out of the country. Can we at least avoid ending up making constant substitutions...

And while I'm moaning :p can we please play in our new kit! Unlike last night...

How often do you complain about Palace managers playing players out of position: and then you suggest playing a centre forward at wing-back.

As i said earlier in the thread we had NO left sided players fit and available thus there is no option to play someone out of position.

However having read through last nights report it looks like we have 2 left backs now on trail, Remy and Bruno so one of them will play LB and will solve teh out of position problem :p

I don't really care who they play tbh. I'm not there for them. Having said that, fair play to chelsea for giving us the receipts. Hopefully we'll be able to tie up a couple of more deals beside Bridcutt on the back of it.
