You cant have Drogba then mate. Once you've signed someone in the draft you can't release them. Going to have to get Doumbia back and release Drogba.

Yep sorry Daz but you can't release someone you just signed you need to get Doumbia back in your team, you can keep Drogba if you want or you can release him, or was there a "special" reason why Doumbia was released. I know Jon made a "legit" cock up, will listen to reason from you too!

No sorry Daz once signed/drafted you can't release, the confusion was because exsisting players (last seasons squads can be released) not new signings. The reason is people may want certain players & a manager could sign them then release them after the other guy misses out on them. Do you still want Drogba?

As long as you clear the debt by next season it's fine isn't it? Otherwise your debt gets taken off next seasons wage budget.

No, it'll just mean your in debt which will be deducted from next seasons income (wages this year will be 566k = 32k debt, meaning income for next season will be 568k) & you can release Doumbia reducing your wages back to 520k

No, it'll just mean your in debt which will be deducted from next seasons income (wages this year will be 566k = 32k debt, meaning income for next season will be 568k) & you can release Doumbia reducing your wages back to 520k

Fixtures are arranged. Check the website. The prem has already kicked off and Omen confirmed a couple of pages ago that we can start playing whenever it suits us.

Peterborough start off with win in France
Montpellier 0 - 2 Peterborough
After a mixed pre-season Peterborough started off the campaign with a win against title contenders Montpellier.
A tight first half saw Posh guilty of missing some chances whilst Montpellier always looked threating going forward. 0-0 at half time and the posh manager told his players to stay calm but required them to a bit more clinical in the key positions.
2nd half saw Peterborough come out strong and broke the deadlock early on when Jerome picked up the ball and curled the ball in fromaround 20yds.

The game was end to end from then on with Peterborough defending for their lives. The killer goal came late on when Agbonlohor got down the wing and crossed for Shelton to score his first goal for the club with a header from just outside 6 yard box.

A great game that the Posh manager admitted he didnt expect to win. Montpellier are still my joint favourites with Red Bulls to take the championship but hopefully we can challenge till the end Pimm was quoted as saying.
Great game Fozzie all the best with rest of games. (The pre season friendlies certainly helped :) )

Once the game is over, take the details of the game down. Score, Scorers, Cards and player ratings. Then go onto the site and login. Go to your team profile then click on your team name on the game you have just played. Then enter all the details and submit.

Busan I'Park seemed to outplay Olympiakos in every aspect of tonight's game but an outstanding performance from keeper, T. Sorenson and goal courtesy of Rob Friend, nicknamed "The Canadian Tower" won the game for the Greeks.
Olympiakos had a slow start, with JonTheProgrammeSeller's Busan I'Park totally dominating in the midfield. The renewed pressure eventually paid off when Huntelaar found himself through on goal. The shot was fierce but Sorenson was equal to it.
The half continued the way it began with possession and play dominated by Busan I'Park, but the pressure was not converted into goals.
Olympiakos started the second half well, but failing to take advantage of their change in fortune, the closest chance coming with Samuel Eto'o striking the woodwork.
But eventually as Olympiakos put the pressure on in attack, the Busan I'Park defence found themselves stretched and were forced to make the foul, which resulted in a byline free kick. Eto'o swung in a cross which was met by the head of Rob Friend who glanced the ball into Keller's goal.
An unlucky loss for Busan I'Park but nevertheless and win that will be appreciated by Nathan Davis's Olympiakos!

Rumours are circulating in Poland tonight that Carlos Tevez is unhappy with his move to Poznan, if there is any truth in this it would be a major shock to the Polish football club who are expecting big things from the Argentinian.

I had 11 shots to around Nathan's 8, it really was a closely fought game. Definately a season opener as we were both testing each other out. Can't fault Nathan on Friend's finish though. Just like George Burley I can take heart in the fact that I played well, just couldn't convert my chances in the final third. I can only but improve from here on in.

Scunthorpe 0 - 4 Peterborough
A scoreline that flattered the visitors but kept up their winning start to the season.
Scunthorpe started the brighter and seemed to spend most of the first half in the Peterborough half. The partnership of Yobo and new club captain Geohaghan standing firm. Another goalless draw at half time.
Peterborough came out quickly in the 2nd half and were rewarded when Shelton went clean through and rounded the goalkeeper only to be tripped in the process. Penalty, dispatched by Owusu-Abeyie for his first goal of the season. Moments later a stroke of luck see the ball bounce around the box before eventually falling to the feet of Agbonlohor who was able to tap in. Scunthorpe a bit shell shocked from their misfortune were able to recover and constantly piled on the pressure amazingly not able to convert their chances due to bad luck and some good defending by the posh back line. With Scunthorpe piling on the pressure Posh were able to take advantage of this and 2 goals from the in form Jerome sealed the victory.
Pimm said 'Its a great result against another strong opponent who will feel the scoreline looks harsh im sure. We took are chances in the second half and im happy with the way the team is playing. No team stands out in this league above any so its going to be a very close fight to the end and im glad we have put are selves in a good position so far'.

4 teams still need to finalise their squads before they can play any matches. Obviously with Carl & Shad both away they won't be complete until they get back but a deadline will be set to get your teams sorted:
Arsenal - 15 players
St.Pauli - 12 players
Chelsea - Shad back around the 30th, 11 players so far.
Persija - Carl back 31st, 9 players so far.
Obviously these teams can't play yet so NO LEAGUE or CUP games will count against these teams.

BUSAN MANAGER CONFIDENT DESPITE LOSS IN SEASON OPENER
Despite Busan's loss to the greek side Olympiakos in their League 1 season opener manager Jon Ellacott remains upbeat. 'It was a game which could have swung either way to be fair, and was a game that had first match of the season written all over it'. He went on to add, 'I am confident that the team will grow throughout the season, as we are a new team in the FWL and so our players need to gel. I am sure that over the next few games we'll have the rub of the green, we were just unlucky against a side whose goalkeeper was in inspired form. I am sure Olympiakos will be up there come the end on the season'.
Ellacott's team, which were sunk by a strike by Friend in the 75th minute, had numerous chances to go ahead but just couldn't find an opening. Olympiakos also had plenty of opportunities, hitting the post and crossbar before scoring.
'I think we have a relatively strong team that can do well in this division this season, but we have to take our chances. I have scouts out and about looking at various options, but the chairman has given me a limited budget, and with the wage buget being tight we'll have to be careful on what players we bring in to the club'.

It is rumoured that Toronto FC have made Adam Johnson available for transfer and are looking for a cash + player deal..... After a low scoring pre-season it is likely they will look to bring in a striker.
I'll give you 6k and Pederson? He's not a striker but he's got a hell of a left foot, scored a couple with him in pre season

There shouldn't be a penalty for selling a player though, you made your budget at the start of the season, and you aren't gaining an advantage by selling him after you have paid for him.

I dont think they will. If say i felt i needed a right back to tighten my defence, then i would want to buy one now, rather than wait til the end of the season when it may be too late.

They are definitely protected for a season after you sign them as well. So it means you can hang onto them longer than if you steal someone (unless you have upgraded your protects).
It's basically been introduced to give people a bit more flexibility during the season with improving their team and to help with the interaction between managers.
However it will limit transfer fees, as there is no point paying loads for someone who you could steal or have stolen from you in a season or two.

In a brief press confrence after Scunthorpes 4-0 home defeat to Premier league champions Peterborough, young and promissing manager, James Gillespie, told FWL news press that he is flying to Spain, to persue his career in rugby. He told us: 'I will be flying early Friday morning and returning on Sunday evening to be back at the training ground on Monday.' He later confessed he will be playing a game of rugby, while meeting with the mayor of the unnamed town he is traveling to.
Gillespie hasn't named the town he is flying into, because of Scunthorpes vast spreading global fan base and himself as a manager. All he revealed is that Scunthorpe will be returning to Management on Monday, were their bid to win the Premier League title.

oo! 1 rule I forgot to put in the rules (newbies take note)
Do not pause the game when the ball is in play you must wait until the ball is dead (Goal kick, throw in, free kick etc).
*If you have possesion & you want to use the menu, play the ball so it will go out of play where no one is around or can stop it, it would then be ok to pause just before the ball goes out.

Just drew 1-1 with Pallet.
Was clean through 1v1 in the last minute, keeper ran out and 2 footed challenged me on the edge of the box. Free kick; no red card. Shocking refereeing.
Credit to Pallet though; I've never been neutralised like that in a FWL game. I felt so useless up front until the 90th!

I think it's a great rule for non-fwl games, as I'm sure some people use it to try & disadvantage the opponent.
though I've never had that in an FWL game.

Palace record opening day win
Three wise re-signings were involved in both goals today.
Firstly Roberto Carlos, who played under PM at Lazio at the very beginning of FWL, released Filip Holosko into the area.
Holosko, who formed a fearsome partnership at Palace with Vincenzo Iaquinta during the Fifa09 years, hit his first shot at the goalkeeper but was able to nod in the rebound for the goal.
Holosko was then involved in the second goal, skinning Southampton's left back before putting an inch perfect cross for cult hero Juan Manuel Vargas to head into the net.
Vargas, also in his second spell at Palace, is thought to be Palace's highest wage earner, but he showed he deserved it today.
Saints did have a few chances, but the Palace keeper was in fine form and denied them any goals.

Credit to Pallet though; I've never been neutralised like that in a FWL game. I felt so useless up front until the 90th!

No it isn't you shouldn't go round pausing the game when it's in play. EG. I'm through on goal & press pause as I get near your goalie, I then resume & shoot straightaway. That's not a reflection of real life & something we all agreed upon a couple of seasons back. Also it's pretty annoying stop starting the game midway through play.
On another note anyone watching Man City v Poznan on 5? those crazy Poznan fans eh? :lux:

Panzer that is a pointless rule that nobody has ever played before, and I can't see anybody using it.
No it isn't & we agreed it before, not the bit about kicking it out but stopping during play. I was trying to suggest it's ok just before it goes out but if people think it's pointless then forget it.
SO THE EXSISTING RULE I FORGOT TO LIST IS:
No pausing the game when the ball is in play.

Poor start from the Poles as they conceded goals 3mins into each half. Tevez & Jelen hardly had a sniff as the Greeks ran out comfortable winners. Arsenal will be left wondering what if tonight as they suffer a first defeat of the season at the hands of newly promoted Southampton.
Saints named an unchanged side to the one which narrowly lost to Crystal Palace, but manager BulletEagle must have been wondering what to do as Arsenal dominated first half possession, never allowing Soton out of their area, and the deadly quadruplet of Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka and Donovan certainly kept an inspired Mark Schwarzer busy, but on 43 minutes the breakthrough came, Messi dinking past two defenders before slotting into the bottom corner.
But Southampton made sure the heads didn't drop, and ironically conceding the goal was the longest Saints had the ball out of their box for, but it was long enough as on the stroke of half-time the game changed when Frenchman Jimmy Briand was found by James Milner, and he nearly turned past one defender before unleashing a fierce strike into the bottom left corner to level it going into the break.
Manager BulletEagle must have said something special at the break because after the interval Soton hit the ground running, Paddy McCarthy meeting a Nani corner in the 6-yard box to nod home with ease. Arsenal continued to pile on the pressure, Ronaldo and Donovan forcing Schwarzer to make two neat save to his right, and it looked as though Arsenal may have been able to pull it back and get the three points, when against the run of play Otsemobor broke down the wing before passing to Poulsen, and with options aheadnpf him saw Nani in acres of space making a run, and Nani could hardly miss from the edge of the box, making it 3-1.
Minutes later it went from bad to worse for the Gunners, Soton again breaking down the right hand side before Milner played a beautiful cross field ball to Lennon who slotted home to give the Saints a shock 3 goal lead. Arsenal didnt give up though, and on 90 minutes Ronaldo skipped past several defenders before cutting back to Messi who fired home from close range.

Olympiakos rue missed chances
4th match in 2 days for the greek FWL team and the players are starting to feel the effects. Carelessness and lack of composure in front of goal lost Olympiakos 2 points which manager, Nathan Davis thought they should have had.
"It's always disappointing to lose a match, but moreso when the chances were there. It's something we work on every day in training but under pressure it is more difficult to get right."
"St Pauli are a top team and are one that know this league inside out. Their defence was strong and their keeper was at the top of his game so fair play to them."
Davis feels his team has quality and despite being new to the league, would not rule any promotion push.
"We are playing good football and the results are beginning to reflect that. Seven points out of the first four matches of the season is a good start and it is something we will be looking to build upon, to propel ourselves up the table and who knows where else."

Omen said teams would be awarded a defeat for playing ineligible players but I don't know what game was next in the list as results have been put in? I can't rule on this as it was me who was involved. other admins or Omen will have to decide :(

Ah crap! Really sorry. I wasn't aware of the rules with suspensions (but i should have been). I knew it was a suspension for a red but genuinely didn't think about it.

Pallet's result will stand as he had 16 in his squad but then released Leo? he just needs to re-sign him. (Fozz or Scotty can you add Leo back into Pallets squad? also take a look at R.Song?)

we need to make the rule that it is the managers responsiblity to check his players are eligible prior to fielding the team and have a set punishment for breaking the rule.
So note to fellow managers if you play consequtive games without imputting results think / check your yellow / red cards.

How FWL works:
Custom Teams are made up of a minimum of 16 FWL squad members. Managers may choose any available club side they wish. As a minimum squad of 18 is required in game, the 2 "unused" players should be the lowest rated players from the exsisting squad.
Each manager is given an initial income of 600k per season. This can be used towards player wages &/or club upgrades. *There is a tax free limit of 500k on wages but after this limit additional wages will be taxed at 100% i.e. 520k salary = 20k taxed at 100% = total wage bill 540k
Player wages are set according to their overall rating on the player profile page in game, as follows:
60 and less = 10k wage
each additional player rating point costs a further 2k.
eg. 61 = 12k, 62 = 14k etc.
At the end of every season a player draft takes place according to manager rank, with lowest choosing first, any new managers go last in their first season.
Protect Stage: Teams can protect a certain number of players if they have puchased the "protect" upgrade.
Steal Stage: In order of rank, lowest first, teams may steal up to two players from other clubs or sign free agents in place of any unused steal.
Individual Teams can only have a maximum of two players stolen from them.
Release Stage: Teams release unwanted players.
Free Stage: Teams sign any players not contracted to an FWL team on a set schedule.
After the initial season on FIFA 11 these will no longer be free. For subsequent seasons a small fee to sign a free agent related to their rating will be introduced (suggested at 1k per rating point).
Discipline: 2 yellows = 1 match suspension
2 yellows in one match = 1 match suspension
Straight red card = 2 match suspension
Suspensions apply to the next fixture in your fixture list in the same competition the card/s were received. If there is no fixture below the match where the suspension was received, the suspension applies to the top fixture in your fixture list.
Upgrades: are available at a cost as per the FWL website. Any upgrades purchased will take affect at the start of the following season.
General Rules:
Only default formations can be used. Managers are allowed to alter a players role but no positional changes are allowed.
Do not abuse or get involved in any arguements with opponents. Any disputes can be raised with & resolved by the Admin team. Always maintain a curteous & sporting attitude at all times & show respect to your fellow FWL members.
Do not cancel out of a game at any time, even during highlights at end of match. Disconnecting on another player may result in a fine, points deduction or even expulsion from the league.
Any team going over their finance limit could have a league point deduction & other penalties applied if they do not address the problem.
Do not play ineligible players. Any fixture where this occurs will result in the game being awarded to the opposition.
Under no circumstances at all should any player by edited. Players who edit their players will face expulsion from the league.
Things that are frowned upon, but aren't illegal: Chasing down the goalkeeper when trying to take a goal kick
Marking defenders tightly when keeper has the ball
Hacking down attackers when clean through on goal
General Behaviour
Do not watch a replay more than once.
Do not watch half time or end of match highlights if the other player has chosen to continue.
Use any celebrations sparingly & consider how you would react if reversed.

Vfl Wolfsburg's blistering attacking strength left the Poles struggling to defend for most of the game. Gomez scored two screamers, as you can see here:

Yep, I have a spreadsheet with the correct fixture numbers now so EVERY manager must be aware of their Yellow or Red Cards recieved in matches, as games played with suspended players will be awarded to the other team. Remember that suspension takes effect for the game immediately following the suspension IE. 2nd yellow or red in fixture 3 suspended for fixture 4 or if that game has been played 5, 6, etc or the first fixture on the list if 1st half of season. I understand people are keen to play but remember the above! Also if you play all your matches in 2/3 days you'll be waiting a few weeks for your next games :p

I think the onus would be on the pauser not to continue any attack in that instance.
Even if you have a perfectly valid reason for pausing, going straight back to the game & scoring immediately would be poor form.
So rather than a rule banning pauses in play, perhaps guidance over what you can do after the pause is needed?

Vald point! Legitimate reasons (real life etc) would be acceptable. Am I wrong in thinking we did introduce this a few seasons back? Could've swore we had. I don't think anyone would try to gain an unfair advantage it just seemed like a reasonable rule to me to keep the flow of the game going & not upset opponents. I will leave it to player discretion but would side with the non-pauser in disputes other than as above.

Is everyone clear on the rules Re: suspensions. It's a little confusing with games being played out of sequence so to clarlify:
Say a manager plays his 3rd & 5th fixtures first, in that order & receives a yellow card for 1 player in both matches, that player would be suspended for the NEXT available fixture in his list IE. fixtures following fixture 5.
If there are no fixtures after, it would be for the top most fixture on his list IE. fixture 1, 2 or 4
If he played fixture 5 then 3 the player would be suspended for fixture 4, etc etc.
If all the fixtures for that part of the season (first half) are finished it would take effect for the first game on the second set of fixtures.
I'm confused just reading that :confused: but I hope you all get the jist of it.

I don't think anyone would try to gain an unfair advantage it just seemed like a reasonable rule to me to keep the flow of the game going & not upset opponents. I will leave it to player discretion but would side with the non-pauser in disputes other than as above.
Im sure it was brought in and it is jst sportsmanship to avoid pausing when in play, obviously apart from the necessary times, cider can spilt and baby crying where u need to pause, pick up the can and shout the mrs to sort the baby out :)

I know I'm a pain at the moment but it's a bit difficult keeping track of the Yellow cards etc when results aren't put in straightaway so could you please include ALL the match details on here (Score, goals, cards) so I know when the cards were issued & in which order etc. I can then let people know suspensions etc even tho' it will be the respective managers responsibilty to keep tabs on their suspended players. you should be able to by clicking on the team as if you were putting the result in from scratch then tick the yellow card box next to Poulson, if not don't worry I'll get Carl to amend it when he's back.
Poulson & De Ceglie are noted on my spreadsheet.

Maybe the result of the game should be taken in to account, so if a player fields an inelegible player and it is a draw it should be a fine and a point deduction and if a win a fine and a 3 point deduction. If it is a loss then just a fine, as it hasn't effected the winning teams result. It might help if teams are fined as that might stop players doing it, so perhaps a £30k fine

To be honest it could've been 3 or 4 before New York finally got a foothold in the game, Ibrahimovic scoring from close range after some clever work from Henry in the box.

There was more drama before half-time though as Gallas brought down van Persie in the area to give the visitors a penalty, earning himself a yellow card in the process. Scott Carson guessed the right way and saved the resulting spot kick however. This was the last action of the first half.
In the second half New York pressed for a killer goal, and were finally rewarded with another penalty in the 59th minute which van Persie made up for his first miss by powering it down the middle. New York saw the remainder of the game out until Gallas gave away another penalty in the final minute, which also saw him go for a slightly early bath. van Persie slotted it in the corner to claim his hatrick and the matchball.
Unfortunately what had been a fair game of football was ruined after the full-time whistle as it seemed that there was a bit of trouble between Montpellier's striker Bendtner and New York's talisman van Persie with the two having to be separated by the rest of the squads and coaching staff. The cameras did also pick up one incident with Fozzie supposedly spitting in hypje's direction although FWL will investigate the issue over the coming weeks.

Bendtner got the ball rolling with a header from a cross from Justin Mapp on 13 minutes. Despite being on the back foot for much of the game up to that point, Reading nearly equalised when Beckford's effort was clawed off the line by Scott Carson;

But it seems that my team is causing too many problems; I’ll be honest and say that having arguably 2 of the best players on in the world I would be a bit put of playing against them but the thing is, you played 3-4-1-2 against it?. It’s not going to be very hard to dribble past your left back then get a cross in or just run into the box and shoot.
Like I said anyway having the team I have is causing problems so ill just leave the league. Sorry to Omen and the admin that have put in all the hard work.

Played CSKA tonite, game played ok then started freezing with the old EA symbol spinning away for a few mins then continued, anyway game was 0-2 & I scored around the 87th min but monster wasn't playing properly checked his status & he's 4-0 up??? game eventually froze at full time with my score 1-2. Monster's game froze 0-4?? got him to check my status so he would know but it was really weird & annoying. Had to replay the game would've been unfair of me to win.... so I didn't :D

I thought i had pissed you right off cos when i scored the third(well what i thought was the third) Poznan played the ball straight back to the keeper and he smacked it in!! Kardan mate ignore it. People complain because they want a level playing field in terms of squad quality, and you have simply gone more attacking, but as I showed your defence is weak so while it's harder to defend against you it's easier to attack.

When viewing your video on ea sports world there should be a download option underneath it. If not, right click the video and there should be a download option there. If not, get a new pc :)
