according to football transfers website, www.footballtransfers.co.uk (http://www.footballtransfers.co.uk) ,palace have just signed two new players - mark williams from watford and dessie bryne from St. Patrick's Athletic (ireland) for an undisclosed fee. see players' profile below:

mark williams:

Previous Clubs: Shrewsbury, Chesterfield Honours: Northern Ireland International.
note: A Northern Ireland international, Mark was Watford's first summer signing ahead of their first Premiership campaign. He made nearly 200 appearances for Chesterfield, featuring in their run to the FA Cup semi-final in 1997. Won a Division Three winners medal with Shrewsbury.

dessie bryne:
Position: Defence/Midfield
Age: 19
D.O.B: 10/4/1981
Previous Club: Stockport County (England)
note: Young left full back who featured in Ireland's U16s European Championship winning team in 1998. Fast and skillful, Des is a superb crosser of the ball and is certainly one to watch for the future. Has also starred in Ireland's U18 International team.

Cerainly on a par with the kind of Players you would expect to sign.

Fringe Premiership players (although they've come down)and young hopefuls with international recognition.

Yes, the footballtransfers website now confirms it as Wimbledon, but has (England, P) after their name, so they're clearly well clued up.
