Didn't say it was the brightest, but after the strife they've gone through in the last 15 years, they've got good reason to be optimistic. Club's in good hands, ambitious, good young manager.
Sounds familiar enough :)

It's not a love affair - however there are many Palace fans who are delighted that Brighton will be in the Championship next season. Assuming we stay there (!) it means that the old rivalry will be re-born. Games against Brighton are always feisty and attract big crowds.
For us older fans, Brighton will always be the real Palace rivals. Forget about Charlton, QPR - and even Millwall. Palace v Brighton is what it's all about.

Brighton are where they are due to massive £80 million investment by their gambling tycoon chairman tony bloom -they have money to spend and chairman is banking on success next year to fill new stadium sponsored by amex -they clearly are in much better fiancial shape than us -will be intertesting to see if they replace their lost fans -brighton fans are fickle -they were only getting attendances of 5000 when they werent doing well but withdean is a poor ground with no atmosphere or cover .Good luck to them -looking forward to playing them again -5-0 !

Poyet will be off, the new stadium will be a ghost town after a few games and they wont be able to win at home with the 'new stadium curse'. Lets have brighton on the last day of the season to relegate them...yes please!

I was in the away end, following the rather smaller red 'n' blue army aka the Pub Team from Essex.
Their support was pitiful! Daggers scored in the first minute, not a peep out of the Weed massive until they got 2 goals in a minute. Some tosspot in one of the adjacent mansions was obviously following the game on Ceefax and starting letting off fireworks - 25 in to the game.
Dagenham came out in the 2nd half and scored 2, making the previous silence sound like Friday night in Leicester Square. 200 Daggers singing ' I've heard more noise in a library'...and this was with them 25 minutes from a promotion.
In the end their class told, and they wrapped it up at 4-3. Finally, the Tesco-clad hordes mustered a couple of songs.
Their PA man - who has a nasal whine like a Paul Whitehouse character - was hilarious with this 'will you pleeease keep off the pitch' / 'please please do not damage the pitch' / 'if you don't all get off right now, the players and manager won't come out' announcements. They ran on, ran around a bit, looked like they'd only ever seen a pitch invasion on TV and didn't know the rules, and got back off again.
Standing on Preston Park station surrounded by nerds in hand-knitted scarves singing their pathetic version of our 'eagles' tune severely challenged my ability to bite my lip. Was a relief to get on the Victoria train with a bottle of Shiraz (oh yes - they have late night M&S down there) and let rip for an hour on the general loathsomeness of all things Weed.
Hate 'em. And I gather that a Seaweed season ticket has become de rigeur for all the middle-classes ponces that emigrated down there from Inner London when they realised their kids might have to go to school with non-whites.
The return of the A23 Derby makes the thought staying up even sweeter. Amex Stadium? Bring It On!

God the fans are what wind me up most. I had to be ball boy at every home game there for 2 years and everygame would be silent with the occasional moan and the occasional randomer piping up 'Come on the Albion'.
