So his email was hacked.

And yet somehow one can see how easy it would be to press reply rather than forward.

But yes, his email was hacked.

I mean it would be wrong to suspect a man of accidentally pressing reply rather than forward and then sending an highly inappropriate email to the wrong person.

And it would be even worse to suspect a man of trying to cover such an event up by suggesting something untoward had happened.

So it is a good job that we know that his email was hacked, and it was nothing to do with him.

Completely out of character for the man.

Clearly hacked.

It's impossible to hit reply and not forward.

Hacked.

Definitely hacked.

As long as the mods don't leak this PM, he won't know how I feel towards him.

I can't understand why anyone would hack their colleagues email and then send something like that?

Unless the said person:

a) Really hates Cook and wants him to lose his job.
&
b) Was clever enough to think that in sending an email to Onuoha's mum, but making it look like it was a 'reply/forward' mistake, he'd probably get away with it and really make Cook look like a twat.

Hmmm, interesting one.

that's the point. It's quite obviously a major **** up on his behalf, but he can very easily just say 'my email was hacked' and people can't prove otherwise

Apparently disciplinary proceedings are underway with a member of staff.

Is that Cook, or is there a pay-off for someone to take the fall?

Out of interest, anyone here every mucked around with a colleagues email if they're away from their desk?

Me and my mates do it if we get the opportunity but we always keep it within our own circle of colleagues who we know wouldn't get upset with it.

Some underling, probably an office junior, will take the flack and be dismissed without compensation and be refused a reference in order to save this wanker's skin. Cook will then be all over the media saying how "disgusted" he is about the whole affair and it'll all blow over till it happens again.

I used to when I worked at Lloyds, two jobs ago.

If anyone dared leave their screen unlocked I'd jump straight on. Fake emails, swapping the settings for the mouse back to front, flipping the screen upside down (Ctrl, Alt, Down, in case you're interested)

:lux:

My favourite is screenshotting their normal desktop, then hiding the taskbar and setting the screenshot as their desktop background.

That probably doesn;t make sense but it really works :D

completely makes sense.

At Uni we jumped on someone's comp, went on to Gay UK website or something like that and set a picture as the guy's desktop background. But then, for added embarrassment, we knew the first thing he'd do to try and hide his desktop background would be to open up his Internet Browser, so we set the Gay website as his homepage too

Watch a big hefty figure appear in their bank account from the far east though - what is announced and what will actually happen will be 2 different things. A minor administrator could be about to come into some decent money (for them).

fortunately, I persuaded the powers that be that my account had been (ahem) 'hacked'

Mrs Onuoha doesnt come out of this looking so great either, seeing as she waited 11 months before leaking the email to the press. If she was that aggrieved, why didnt she complain at the time?

I read in the paper today that Onuoha had had some interest from other clubs, and Everton wanted him on loan on transfer deadline day. Man City didn't let him go because of the wages they'd have to subsidise. Might be revenge.

I have a suspicion that his email was hacked to send just this one message. Who would have thought it......

As Eurosport's Early Doors column suggests:

In any case, if Cook's explanation is correct, isn't that a much bigger issue for City than a single unpleasant email from the chief executive?

If a hacker has been in Cook's emails, what else have they been doing?

Have they gained access to confidential information? Have they sent any more emails in his name?

Maybe it was actually a hacker who chose to spend £17.5 million on Roque Santa Cruz?

Did the hacker invite Roberto Mancini into the City of Manchester Stadium while his predecessor Mark Hughes was in the dugout managing the team against Sunderland?

Perhaps it was a hacker who told the Daily Telegraph of Thaksin Shinawatra: "Is he a nice guy? Yes. Is he a great guy to play golf with? Yes. Has he got the finances to run a club? Yes. I really care about those three things."

And was it the hacker who inducted Uwe Rosler into "the Manchester United Hall of Fame"?

All could become clear in the coming days...

TBF. Given her statement she should be dead by now.

Insensitive email, but I reckon he had probably got his bullshit radar tuned in perfect.

I read yesterday (The Times?) that she had taken it up with the FA and the Premier League first but they weren't interested.

Dr Onuoha (to give her correct title) is her son's agent so you would think that Manchester City should be conducting discussions with her in a professional manner.

She has recently asked Kia Joorabchan to act on her son's behalf to find a new club. He is not a registered agent, and of course is linked with Carlos Tevez. He's not popular at Manchester City who have reported Dr Onuoha to UEFA. Tit for tat. Very sad.

A frightfully lefty lawyer chum of mine who has had dealings with Cook reckons he's not a bad bloke but was horribly out of his depth (which makes you wonder what he was doing in a £1.5 million a year role). He had no such kind words for Gaydamak though.
