Man Utd v Chelsea
Sunday 18th Sept, 16.00

It looks as though some bookies have some great free bets for this game. I've just had a message from Bet 365 -

"Man Utd entertain Chelsea on Sunday and we’ve got a fantastic free bet offer to add to the excitement of the biggest game of the Premier League season so far.

Place a pre-match bet on the Man Utd v Chelsea game and we will give you a free In-Play bet to the same stake on the big match.

To qualify for your free In-Play bet, simply place a bet before kick-off, then once the game starts place another bet on any In-Play market. If your FIRST In-Play bet loses we will refund this stake, up to the same value as your largest pre-match bet (max 50)."

So, basically a free 50 bet ;).

I'm guessing some other bookies will have free bets on this game, as it tends to happen for big games like this ...

I'll see if Skybet decide to give away money like they did on the Champions league final...

Haven't seen any other free bets for this game, but the Bet 365 one is definitely worth taking for anyone with an account ;)

BETFRED: If your player scores the first goal of the match and then scores another, Fred will double your first goalscorer price. If your player scores the first goal of the match and then goes on to score a hat-trick, Fred will treble your goalscorer price.

I think I'll go for:

50 on over 2.5 goals @ 1.95 before kick off
50 on under 2.5 goals @ 1.85 just after kick off
Total stake = 100

If it ends over 2.5 goals:

Overs bet wins, returns nearly 100
Unders bet is refunded = 50
Total return 150

If it ends under 2.5 goals:

Overs bet loses
Unders bet wins, returns around 92
Total return 92

So I either win 50 or lose 8

Is there an option to bet on someone on the BBS calling both teams wankers?

I'll take a piece of that one.

I don't think you'd get odds on that somehow ... ;)

100/1 against maybe?

The bonus amount is actually the same stake right? Not like some other site's free bet offers where you don't win your stake back.

I like your theory, but I've done it slightly different.

Have placed $50 on UNDER 2.5 Goals in the "Goal Line" market which pays 1.925 ... much better than the 1.85 in "Total Goals" market.

During the in-play, wait for the OVER 2.5 to hit 2.00+ (hopefully it stays 0-0 after 5 minutes), then bet $50 on it.

Therefore:

if UNDER 2.5, I win $46
if OVER 2.5, I guarantee money back (provided I can get on odds of 2.00)

During in-play, unless you can foresee an early goal, the odds for UNDER will continue to drop while the opposite is true for OVER. A game between two giants is usually quite tight especially in the beginning, so let's hope it's true for tonight. Since I'm greedy, will probably wait for 2.00+

Yes, you get your stake back. (They refund your first in-play bet if it loses up to 50, as long as you've placed another 50 bet before the game)

All kinds of ways of doing it. The main thing is:

1. Remember to place a 50 bet before the game
2. Place a 50 bet during the game - if this one loses, they refund it.

Stuck my 50 in play bet on Draw/United half time/full time at 10/1. Got my original 50 bet on United.

For future reference, there is no reason why couldn't do the same bet twice, if you think it's good value. The important thing to remember is they are giving you a money-back guaranteed 50 bet - if it loses you get your money back. A rare present from a bookmaker :p

Yep, basically I got a shade under 2/1 for a United win, nice

Put original 50 on man u the plan was to stick the other 50 on them too but it was 1~0 before I got round to it (stuck at work today). Thought about Rooney anytime scorer at 6/4 but in the end backed the draw at 7/2. Oh well at least it was free

Don't worry - you'll get it (I had a refund no problem with a previous offer they did like this).
