It is very tricky, you need to keep an eye on your rear at all times

The park and ride sites are your best bet, nothing that close to the stadium. Failing that park up at Lewes and catch the train in (one stop- 5 mins). I've posted a few more suggestions on the 'Lewes on the 27th' thread.

what about getting train back to Lewes after the game?
What time and how available will they be?

According to the National Rail Enquiries site, there are trains leaving Falmer at 9.37, 9.55, 10.07, 10.25 and 10.37. But I would repeat what I said on another thread, parking in Lewes is not at all easy. The parking scheme restrictions are in place until 6 pm, and most spaces tend to be filled by commuters until about that time. There is quite a reasonably sized car park at County Hall, which is open to the public after 6 pm and little used outside working hours, but this is about 15-20 minutes walk from the station.

There is a car park at the station too, reasonably sized as well.

I've gone for the park and ride - you must book in advance though. Ring the Weed customer service, they'll probably still get it to you by Tuesday (mine came in about two days, I think).

Go to sports reception at uni, say you are meeting someone for squash/5 aside/badminton/etc, they will sell you a scratch card, you scratch off the date, and write you car reg on top of card... all for £1

Receptionist: The centre is busy tonight
Manager: Why how many car passes have we given out?
Receptionist: That will make 250
Manager: How many Courts have been booked?
Receptionist: Erm let me check........erm 1!
Manager: You need words on the big screen don't you!

Almost correct, but I think there will be more then 250 car parking spaces, which is a fair amount, no?

Parking in Lewes is probably a decent idea, not sure the carpark there would cost after six.. but you should be able to park nearby or next to Lewes FC's ground.

As the commuters come back from Brighton they will start freeing up spaces too.

As per the Withdean days, OB place signs to the effect of "Residents Parking" only. Could be worth a punt though, much safer than over the road in Moulscoombe.

Looks like you have to pre-book according to their website. Wish I'd spotted that earlier - guess it'll be too late now. I'm going to have to drive so no clue about what I'll do now!

This is Mad, I am taking a 77 YO Lady who can not walk to far. She has followed Palace for over 50 Years all around the country, Never had such a Bad Parking problem as this, I think she will not be able to go. It looks like a many mile Walk to the ground.

Likewise.
I have seen mentioned that you can buy tickets on the P&R , its just that it costs more..but no one seems to know if thats true.

It cost me £1.50 for each P & R ticket, (Each person in the car needs one I was told to be able to use the bus). This is £1 cheaper than I think what Brighton's own web site says. When I ordered mine they arrived the next day. ALSo I've read somehwere that (And I may have posted a link to it on another thred) that some away fans on arriving at a P & R without tickets were referred to drive to the Amex to buy them then drive back to the P & R. A task which took them quite a lot of time. I think it is a shambles that Palace have only highlighted the travel instructions on Friday, these directions should have been provided with each ticket sold, similar to when Withdean tickets were sold. It will also be a shambles if most of the Palace cars have not got P & R tickets. I think the vouchers are the same as the 'travel vouchers' for travelliong within the Sussex area on the day of the game.
I can only suggest that if you havent got a P & R voucher ring Brighton tomorrow for advice. There has been no useful advanced information from either club. Depending on what travel chaos ensues on Tuesday I can imagine a 'bubble' trip in the future.
My mention on the Brighton away blog on 2nd SEpt as below is still valid
QUOTE=geoffh]as per:
http://www.seagulls.co.uk/page/Travel/0,,10433~2410832,00.html
reading on in the home fans info for parking at the amex I think the £2.50 is per passenger not per car and if you don't have the vouchers in advance you don't get into car park. This does not seem to have been made clear by Palace in selling the tickets (Or have I missed something?)[/QUOTE]

I've just called them and they've been told to no longer email them - as they fear they're getting in the "wrong hands" - how does that work....Its a P&R FFS, presumably all fans have to use it, so how can it be wrong hands ? :veryangry
This is a farce...How many drivers will be descending on the Amex with no tickets and nowhere to park. This should been advised weeks ago
Just got the last two park'n'rides from the cpfc box office, so none now left

Two suggestions; Firstly, perhaps the P&R system would be one option, or, give the Amex a ring as they have quite a number of disabled spaces which they allocate on a 'needs' basis. They might be able to help you out. Good luck!!

I have just spoke to the transport manager at Brighton. He told me that Palace will have informed all ticket buyers that park and ride has to be prebooked (which is untrue) and that the Brighton website says the same thing (which is also untrue)!
I explained to him that there will be lots of people being turned away from the park and ride tonight, and that there could be chaos. He just kept repeating that he did not envisage a problem. The man is an idiot.

Parked in Coldean, just round the corner from the Hikers. No problems at all in finding parking, or getting away afterwards (drove in direction of Br*ghton on the A27, as all other directions were royally f**ked).
Next time I may well park even nearer in Moulsecombe (sp?) as was deterred from parking there this time by talk of it being a mini-Toxteth by scaremongering no doubt middle class Br*ghton fans, but in reality it was little more than just an average council estate with some grafitti in a subway.
Certainly preferable driving than joining that queue for the station. And they want to increase capacity FFS!

Sat incorporate parking area (had guest tickets in the) North west stand 1901 club, queued for ONE HOUR just to get out the car park.
Disgraceful that a stadium has been built without any working plan for transport. It was a joke.

Parked in Lewes and got the train over. Not a problem really and only had to wait for two trains after (max 15 mins) so not bad at all.

This was a real red herring. No pre booking needed at all. We just rocked up at 7, tried to park in the car park next to the ground  but ended up in the racecourse park and ride, straight on a bus walked in for the ko.
Different story afterwards though but still indoors at 12:15
