View Full Version : Nice & Quiet
We know that you like you piece and quiet at Palarse from the lack of singing by you twats, or are you all cardbooard cut-outs. Still back to a nice quiet Sunday in Redhill or Purley planting a few daff's.
The mighty Holmesdale roar looked like about 25 kids in the corner.
Now at most clubs Half Time is traditionally for latest scores and fun competitions on the pitch, perhaps interspersed with some music or surprise birthday announcements. However, at Palace they have decided to break with tradition and spend 15 minutes sermon about the efforts to rescue Palace from the jaws of death. Apart from the fact that the PA System in the Arthur Waite Stand would have been better if they’d just stuck a bloke in the roof with a megaphone, telling this to 8,000 Charton fans who are waiting for some half time scores, is somewhat like the Pope whispering Bible extracts to a group of Satanists. (Oh dear, I’ve made us sound like devil-worshippers.)
STAND UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS.

I couldn't hear the PA system in the half-hour waite stand either.
So I just joined in the chanting of VFR like all the other 8,000 charlton fans, cos there was no way i was going to find out the ipswich and city half times from that loud(?)speaker. Nevermind, should have guessed it would be late goals all round.
And I honestly didn't realise what that half-time pep talk was all about (i thought they were playing silly buggers in the hail) until that cake-retentive NIgel's wife started having a go and waving her fist (scary!)....was she just jealous that she wasn't part of the palarse cheerleaders over in the corner by the homosdale - they must have been so moist with that unfortunate inclement weather.
oh, and finally, i hope you've signed up that guy who did the Miss-Our-Booty challenge at half time. he looked class!

As Tony Galye said on Capital Gold after the match when some Nigel Nookie rang in to have a moan about half time. "You should be able to take abit of banter in a derby game".

Try making some of your own noise Nookie, if you can't sing, then get a better PA.

Funny you're slagging off our support. For the amount of you in the Arthur Waite, it was generally regarded that yours was awful. We couldn't hear or see you until the goal went in. Especially as you are supposed to hate us so much. I suppose most of them wouldn't know the words to the songs as they've only been going for a few months.
I agree our home support could definately be better, but our travelling fans make you like the two-bob clowns that you are.
As for the PA system, I take it you didn't hear the tannoy announcment to remove the caravan with the charlton sticker as it was blocking a car. Quality!
Enjoy it while why you can you muppets cos nothing lasts for ever.
How nice it was to hear the four Clowns behind me as I walked to my car cheering when they heard that Millwall had won. Funny that I always thought you did not like them either but you live and learn.
And as for the chanting at half-time, well thats life again, still I suppose when you are in the **** ( which you will be cos you aint staying up ) you wont bring enough fans to Selhurst to make any noise. ( remember the play-off games. Ooops probably not )
Ask yourselves this. If you where in our predicament do you really think that you could be getting anywhere near the crowds we are ? Be honest for once, just give me a simple yes or no.
Misty boy, no answer to my question then ?
Thought not.
It is strange you know but I quite admire your footballing team, have a lot of time for your Directors who have done wonders. But as for your fans, well, there is nothing to say except you are the biggest bunch of tossers we have had at Selhurst all season. All I can say is that Fulham have been accused of having glory hunters but Clowntown put them to shame.

Just ignore the clowns. They've got their own little forum here so they can ponce around beating their chests. I'm sure the "best team in the division" beating our reserve team 1-0 is big news all over the caravan site.
I have never seen such childish postings as these, and they call themselves fans of football? Would fans of football jeer and whistle through an announcement regarding the safety of a football club?
Please ignore them. No doubt, there will be another "hit" gag about Palace and probably me after this post but this will just prove my point.

You see Charlton this is where you go wrong. Palace are meant to be your rivals, as well as ours, but for us that means that we want to play them every year. We certainly do not want them to go bust, we want them to finish below us, YES, go down, SOMETIMES, but we really want them around. Obviously we hate them more than you! LONG LIVE THE SEAGULLS!! Enjoy your little bit of success while you can. when (NOT IF!) we sort out our financial trouble we'll be beating you twice a season as per usual.
Now I don't expect you to believe me when I say this, but my Charlton mate said how impressed he was with the atmosphere from the Holmesdale.
Your atmosphere was only in short spells where you'd suddenly have a short burst of "we hate palace" or "we are top of the league". Now that's not what I'd call a good atmosphere, but then again maybe it ias in your books.
As for "No.1 in S.London" don't make me laugh! The chant of the day was definitely "you're just a bunch of pikies!!" so funny but yet so true, outside the ground I was amazed at the amount of chavs aand greasy haired oiks wearing Charlton shirts, I can see where you got your gypsee tag from now.
Now you've enjoyed your victory and the banter that goes with it so piss off and let the Brighton fans (our true rivals) come on here and give us some stick.
Im a born optimist, which is why I beleive Palace will survive all this trouble we are having at the moment. However, whilst Im optimistic, I am not stupid and beleive miracles will happen. Im afraid, unless we get relegated (which I doubt), or we get promoted next season, I suggest you gypo's go and book your tickets for the following season, cos you will be coming to Selhurst Park again for a 1st Div game. Im afraid people like Fowler, Owen, Shearer and co are gonna have a field day with your defence. Even though all Charlton supporters have the mentality of a retarded slug, it will be good to see you again, to let you know we are still around. Oh and the excuse about the pa was a good one, Id be embarrassed to admit I have problems understanding words of more than one syllable

kevin t,
if you're gonna say that the charlton fans didn't sing out loud and proud then you can shove your two bob tanoy up where your boyfriend shoves his 2 inch love toy!!!
i admit that it went quiet towards the end of the first half, but i was just soooooooo impressed with your lock-in at the end of the match that really made us charlton fans see what true fans are like! or how about watching the fans that fight tooth and nail for their club leaving the homosdale with 5 minutes to go, tail between legs, realising that they didn't have a decent chance in the 2nd half. and this club, with its massive fan base, that couldn't sell out its home areas.
come and talk to me again when your senses haven't been so numbed by all the pro-palarse nonsense that gets spouted in this forum.

How you 'Heather Sellers' can brag about anything is beyond me.
You didn't even fill the stand, and therefore you had no where near 8000 at the game, but then we wouldn't expect a bunch of travelling scum like you to understand numbers.
on to the game ... If you lot think that falling to the ground for a free kick EVERYTIME you get tackled is gonna keep you in the Premiership ... Think Again.
Good job you got a West Ham reject on Loan cos the Swedish Muppet and 'Fanny Name' aint gonna do the biz .. that for sure.

funny how its charlton fans who are being called the pikies here, when most palarse fans come from gypsy hill.
and the area around the ground is an absolutely dump - probably more shootings outside sh1tehurst park than palarse can muster inside.
pure bitterness from palarse fans - its great to see.

Bitterness? Why are we bitter? You have a far more equipped side than us this year and to be honest losing 1-0 to a team so far ahead in the league is no disgrace. Of course it was a big game for us for that reason, but we made a good account of ourselves.
To be honest, I find it boring talking to Charlton fans and would much rather have a bit of banter with the Brighton lads that frequent here.
The game's over now, you won. Congratulations. You've had your bit of gloating as to be expected. Now if you wouldn't mind, can you please go and bother someone else and make way for Brighton, our true rivals, and I suppose Foolham, as they are our next game.
When we play you again the season after next, no doubt our paths will cross again.

From Sevenoaks huh? Thats just so close to Gypsy Hill, you must have a holiday home there that you use at weekends!
So let me see, as you're a country bumpkin from further down the coastal train line, your profile would go something like this:
1) inbred
2) inbred
3) chocolate starfish explorer - think about it.
As for your employment (if you have any), maybe you mow the lawn on that lovely little cricket common you have, cos you certainly wouldn't be able to face up to working in the big, scary city with all the townfolk.
You've also forgotten to include on your list at least a couple more players who've played for palarse and charlton, but as you're probably only a part-time fan i wouldn't expect you to know them.
And finally, as for making a point, you wouldn't know a point if charlton gave you 1 this season just for charity.
How you can sit there and claim to be no.1 in sarf london when we're gonna be champions, have done the double over you this season, have a far superior squad than you, and can sell out our home areas, is absolutely ludicrous.
shouldn't you be milking the cows Nigel?

either be abusive or just join in with the chat. As far as I can see from the different forums there seem to be two personalities, under Rolling Mist. One that seems capable of rational discussion (see 'General Discussion') another that is child like and uses every opportunity to take some cheap shot which is getting a little boring. Seeing as we wont play you for another 18 months, if at all. Why don't you go and try to befriend/abuse (depending on which personality you are) another set of fans!?

Eagle Mart,
During my limited time on this BBS, it seems that palarse fans only come into this away forum to put down charlton and brighton to the best of their abilities, whilst charlton fans tend to give it the large (and rightly so).
Each set of fans deserves the right to defend their club, and the massive differences in opinion often lead to disagreements, which of course is fine by me.
But there are some fans who can't learn to disagree and who can't banter without swearing and being abusive, note earlier in the thread Siko, Scoot, Kev T and then the essay by that 'nobody' who I have to thank for getting me back on the straight and narrow path (!)
I registered on this BBS cos I'm interested in how the fate of Palarse hangs in a balance which seems to shift with each day that passes. I watched my first footy game standing on the terracing behind the goal at selhurst (charlton v oxford), and i agree with most of your actions in trying to save your club - admittedly hanging a flag during a serie A match is a bit lame, but hey at least your trying.
So I can chat normally on any topic of your choice which I usually find in the Palarse areas of this BBs (hence if i want to contribute i can cos i'm a member), but i'm not going to sit back while some pre-pubescent clueless dildo has a dig at me cos i'm apparently 'a tarmac layer'????
hope that answers your question and satisfies you as mcuh as the Sun's National Cleavage Day will this thursday.

I came over for this game and expected to see a team worthy of being leaders of the 1st Div. and what did I see? A team of rejects, we have an excuse (NO MONEY), but what is yours? I can see the likes of Moan Utd fans singing "bring on the Clowns", it will be classed as "X" rated unsuitable for Children like you!
The stand was ONLY 2/3rds filled, so do not give me this crap about make more noise, we Palace supporters were listening to the speaker; it was the only time you made more noise than us. As for our fans leaving early, pray tell me why yours were leaving so EARLY? I can only assume you had to round up your horses? I again assume that smell was from your horses? You still get 19-20k even though "you was relegated" (sic) because being relegated is not necessarily the bursting of the bubble. Not for clubs like Palace and Charlton it isn't, anyway.
Your team are still ok and you didn't lose any players so there was a fair chance you'd challenge for promotion and indeed you have so your fans have all hung around.
If you'd lost 30-odd players in twelve months and were watching what was essentially your youth team scratching around trying to avoid relegation to division two, there would be about 6 ot 7 thousand of you, just like there were when you were **** and in the **** in the not too distant past.
The nasty man above obviously doesn't remember Palace's hey-day in the mid 80's shortly after being dubbed "Team of The Eighties".

Stevecr(apteam),
if you'd bothered reading the thread, you would have known how long i've been supporting charlton.
but maybe that's asking a little bit too much from someone with the concentration span of a goldfish - i mean, how else could you watch palarse play week after week, if you remembered how bad it was the last time.

e=mc2 i wonder why you have not put in the last 15years of stats.mugs like you make me laugh. where were your fans when we stuffed you in the play-offs. you say your support is the tops . why did you only take 2000-3000 to millwall. palace are the only team to sell 5000 tickets for a league game at the new den. were we a little scared?
see you at next season.
Remember the game against Millwall at the new Den well. Snowed all day and night - Mortimer took the piss out of em -couldn't get the ball off him.Gate was about 11,000 if memory serves - 2-3,000 turnout not bad considering most thought the game was postponed.
Ps - Millwall away allocation is 4,000 not 5,000 (suppose its like the 6,000 you took to Swindon) - Still you being a closet Spanner thought you'd have known that.

Prof Heinz wolf a man city fan from Croydon?? Does'nt suprise me you sound like a wan*er.
Rolling mist still talking like a complete knob head, who cares how long "YOU SAY" you've supported the pikie scum that is Charlton, get back you caravan and shag your sister, you inbred twat.
Lets face it Charlton are going up, it pains me to say it, but they are. I watched the game against QPR on friday night and again you won, but convincingly?? I think not. There is no way you will survive in the Premier and if you think you will I think you are kidding yourselves.
YOU JUST AINT GOOD ENOUGH
Your support is bollocks you have not got a big enough squad and the quality you have (incl Palace rejects) just isn't good enough.
Crow all you want now, but do me one favour, logon in January 2001 as I want to take the piss out of all of you because by then you will be mathematically relegated.
Have a great time next season getting battered every week and still supporting the club that lives in the shadow of the real No.1 south London club.

nah, didn't hit a nerve, didn't hit anything, a bit like forsell at foolham from what i could gather after watching the palarse v foolham highlights.
i will admit to being a bit part-time at the moment though, couldn't make vale on tuesday cos of work commitments (it being quarter-end and all that), and i'm off to aintree for the national this weekend - quite glad that it now looks as though we'll wrap up the title at home to 'uddersfield next friday.
party time!

I bet Rolling mist is a 14 year old sexually deprived, ackney covered,no friends pikey. What a big boy giving it behind the security of a computer screen, what a guy ! was it your family that had to be so abruptly moved from Bromley arena not too long ago, or do you live in Star lane? In between spending your days on here, i bet you like nothing better than shafting your sister so that you can "keep things in the family", like all the other clowns. You must be so proud of your performance at selhurst, sorry dick, that told me that its not too long before we see u again. Did'nt we scammper off quickly after the game, next time stick around, then you can give it to my face instead of a computer screen.

I would've thought West Ham who are just up the road. However, they've always been a better team than Chrlton. As have Palace over the years. I wonder why Charlton have being trying to start a 'rivalry' only over the last couple of seasons.
I should think that West Ham would be just as embaressed to be seen as rivals with those anoraks as us. Welling may be good candidates for rivals with the clowns, but I fear a Welling home game would be far to load and boistrous for charlatan's silent fans.

The Reds are just completely boring me to bits now !
However (I might as well get my bit in) I am sooo glad to say that when we went up as First Division Champions, (and during the whole of that season) we were NEVER - EVER - as quiet at away games as they were the other Saturday.
Even if they were not going up as Champions, I would have expected a bit more sound from them taking into account we are supposed to be "their" rivals.
Now enough, and be gone you http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/clown.gif 's.
