I don't know if it's been said already, but get lots of long shots in

A few high hanging balls into the box as well.

No time to really work with his defenders either, good opportunity to take advantage of a keeper with known weaknesses.

I honestly don't think he's better than Speroni, why then should we be worried?

Never rated Aluminim... Hasn't played all season, and won't have time to work with his defence (see our defence on the opening day at Peterborough)... If there's one advantage we should look to exploit it's this.

Also Almunia is rash coming out for balls in the area... Expct to see Scannell or Zaha taken out.

Ability to lift the ball over an exposed keeper, can Murray, Ambrose, Scannell, Zaha take advantage?

Aren't they still paying off Sheff Utd for him keeping them up a few years back?

Maybe they could snap him up and then lend him to Sheffield United in lieu of any oustanding payment?

How have West Ham been allowed to sign Almunia on "Emergency" loan? Even if Green is injured they still have Ruud Boffin, Marek Stech, Peter Kurucz, and Sam Cowler signed on as keepers.

It shouldn't be allowed IMO.

Anyone can sign anyone on loan, it just has to be called an emergency

When we signed Kemy last season, it was classed an emergency loan despite us having Garvan, Doorman, O'Keefe, Wright, KG and youngsters (as you list Wt Sham's goalkeeping youngsters).

Boffin is 24 and played in Holland a fair bit, Kurucz is 23, and Stech is 21 and played a few times in the Carling Cup. Hardly youngsters.

I think Emergency Loans should be just that... Bit of a p**s take if you ask me.

Would be a good keeper at this level. Was never world class unlike Jules!

Well yes, but that is besides the point. Most clubs use them and most of the time, there is no emergency. No point singling out West Ham for doing so.

Bit shit on the rest of the WHU keepers though. Green get's injured so they get in a replacement! Great for their confidence!

Agree, but I think it's just the fact of how do you define Emergency? And then police that. It's easier just to let all one month loans go through.

A few lots of the right kind of noise when he takes goal kicks etc, a your not good enough for Arsenal, and he will fall apart

David of Kent

All joking aside it'll go one of two ways. He'll either have a shocker due to lack of preparation and game time, and him being quite crap, OR, he'll play like he did in that first half against Barca a couple of seasons back and save bloody everything due to being so motivated to prove everyone wrong.

Then next week he'll go back to being crap

I thought you meant when he came on for Szczesny in the game they eventually lost 4-1 this year? He played pretty well then too.

Or maybe they won't play him for this one.

Can't believe they have tried to get Tevez in on loan as well, very cheeky move. Glad it wasn't successful!!!!

not much in this. good keeper for this level. same standard we should expect week in week out more or less in the championship. probably an improvement on their current options for the game, so bad i guess, but... nothing worth loosing sleep over. no jules thats for sure!!
