It's probably more the two diagonal stripes that are a la Palace rather than the colours.

It would certainly have been white rather than black except then the yellow stripe wouldn't have stood out!

I did post a link to my prototype design in General Palace Discussion when the competition result was announced, but the topic was moved to the Away Fans' End. I would hope however that it proves you can break the stripes for a sponsor's logo (e.g. in a future Palace jersey) without ruining the look of the strip. Meanwhile, I've been told I am getting a free one after all.
