From the Melbourne Age web site:

"SPIRIT SIGNS SOCCEROO FOSTER

Northern Spirit has signed Socceroo striker Craig Foster and hopes to play him in Friday's local derby against Sydney Olympic.

Foster had been playing for English club Crystal Palace but was experiencing work permit troubles"

Good luck to him I say, he filled a gap that needed filling. It wasn't his fault that Vegetables paid him silly wages.
Criag was the only player at CPFC who was interested in helping me out with prizes for the "Glad All Over" gig last year. He got all the team to sign shirts before the QPR game by sneaking me in to the training ground canteen, whilst the players were waiting for the coach. He walked around with me explaining what I was doing and made sure that every player had signed the shirts. He was also the only player to make a cash donation to "Glad All Over".
OK so he wasn't as majestic as Lombardo in Midfield, but in my eyes the guy will always deserve some respect for what he did last year.

Agree with Bob, good post Maidstoned, if a player does that he deserves some respect.

Yeah, I take this point too. Whenever I've had to interview Palace players, Foster was always one of the most media-friendly and was always happy to comment on the controversial stuff.

However, I have to say I would rather have a squad full of moody Vieira types who refused to go anywhere near a microphone but could actually complete a five yard pass without conceding a throw.

Thanks for everything Craig, but let's face it, you were never up to the job.
