According to Sky Sports, Sunderland have released goalkeeper Craig Gordon. Surprising as he cost them a few fair millions!!

Barely played for them due to injury.

They paid 7 or 8 million didn't they. At the time that the c@@t keane was spending like an idiot and proving what a c@@t he is.

I thought they were happy to give him a new contract but on reduced wages. Obviously he wasn't happy to take that. Fair enough, his choice.

I could be thinking about someone completely different though.

But what do you think about Roy Keane?!

Think it may even have been 9M.

£9m for 95 appearances - what a waste of money. I seem to remember Arsenal were in for him at the time too - I expect he will end up back in Scotland now.

Astonishes me how a goalkeeper can be ravished with injuries when they hardly move in comparison - probably a tad naive of me perhaps.

We had a very able keeper a few years back to whom exactly the same thing happened, but not for so much money. Injury prone keepers are just not worth having.

Those bloody sidesteps in the goals are causing all the injuries, its repetitve tough going on the groin

Mignolet & Westwood are fair keepers.

Back to Jocko land?

Bit like Matt Clarke I suppose? Clearly talented, but blighted by injury.

Fwiw I think mingolet is one of the best keepers in the pl.

Funnily enough I was watching this video recently and wondered the opposite.

Maybe not in distance but they're constantly shifting direction and bodyweight not to mention hitting the ground hard and balls at 50 mph + getting smacked straight at them from very near distance.

Trust me, it hurts!

Was a great keeper and one of the best in teh business when he moved to Sunderland.

How much of his lack of games recently has been down to injury and how much was down to competition for the place?

If fit someone will pick up a very good GK for nothing.

Never been a massive fan of him.

The only team in Scotland who can probably afford him are Celtic anyway.

I'm with GG on this one - was a cracking keeper when he first moved south of the border, and had some awesome matches in his first year there.
