View Full Version : Palace Now 2/1 For Promotion

Palace's odds for promotion have now been slashed to 2/1 and we are 6/1 to win the Championship.

These odds reflect our form and even the most blinkered Palace fans must realise that this can be our year to get promoted.

Now to get the crowds to reflect the entertainment on offer which is top drawer.

I think they are extremely mean odds, considering it's a very tight league, it's only November and our relatively thin squad hasn't suffered a real injury crisis yet. We lose KG in January and the jury's out on the Wilf situation.
I think 6-1 would be very optimistic, and a bit fairer at this stage.

It's a good job I got 125/1 at the start or the season:p

would agree, very poor odds at this stage of the season.

If Wilf leaves then they certainly won't be the odds. We are by no means a 1 man team but he is vital to how we play. Like Stellavista said the jury's out on Zaha in Januray and KG is gone for a month so we need some solid signings and hope McCarthy and Williams are back by then

I'm on at 80-1 for promotion only for 3.50, on BF after we lost the 1st 3games :)

To win the league? Biggest I ever saw for promotion was 80/1 with coral at the end of August.

I missed the boat here big time, I have 40/1 promotion, 80/1 champions and 50/1 FFSM as top scorer:sob: :sob:

I really want someone to buy that Austin fella from Burnley and take him out of our league

Me too. I was sitting here looking at us on the bottom thinking I'm going to have $100 on us to get promoted but all I could see was to win the league so I wussed out.

Perfect timing to pre-empt a quality loanee replacement. Perhaps a Premiership star looking to get fitness back on a 3 month deal or something?

This is Palace. Lump on relegation IMO.

Prem clubs looking at him. If he moves in January, that should leave FFSM a better chance of being Championship top scorer.

Full lot if we win the league, 322.50 if we finish 2nd or 3rd. :p

You can still get 66/1 on Andy Dorman being top scorer (or 40/1 on Goodwillie) :D

I'm thinking promotion is a possibility - but no more than that at this stage. Still more than 5 months to go. I certainly wouldn't take those odds I'm afraid.

I'm on for 1 at 65/1 to win the league. Crap odds I know given what I could have got but meh.

Those are not generous odds. All sorts of things need to fall into place for Palace to go up this Season. In particular, this Team needs to stay fit and stay together. It would be nice to think that there won't be any serious injuries to key players between now at next May (and that the big Clubs won't tempt anyone away in January), and that our recent form will continue throughout the Season, but there will surely be some testing times ahead.

Clearly we have a chance - but there do seem to be a few fans who are already thinking that promotion this year is probable. It isn't.

I put money on us a month or two back.

Buggered if I can find the bookies I put it on with though. Been on three separate online accounts and can't find it.

Anyone ever had bets disappear?

The Tuesday after we first went top I got a tenner on at 12/1 for the championship, happy with them odds

why take a three month loan to cover a (max) 6 week absence(especially if they aren't fit from day 1)? Why take any loan at all when he have made cover in the development side in O'Keefe?

I have Palace to win the title, Chelski to be relegated and Alan Lee to be the next pope at 1/6. Best odds on a triple I could get given the circumstances. Starting to worry about Chelski though, they may just get out of it.

IF we can get through to Feb with everyone still fit and here then I think it becomes probable, because our run-in looks ok. BUT that's a big if, and for now you're absolutely right.
