Good or bad?

Well if you judge a ref by how many players he likes to book in a game, I'd say he's not too bad.
This season: 21 games, 42 yellow cards & 1 red in his first game back in August. Better than most, but maybe not the best way to judge a referee?
We'll soon find out tomorrow!

Well we like to give refs the opportunity to give one. Lump on Murray to score

Thought he handled the whole game very well, didn't bottle decisions, played good advantages.

agreed...good game, let it flow but remained in control

I have seen a lot worse. I thought that his overall control was good. I would like to see the penalty re-run though. My first reaction was that the Brighton keeper denied Murray an obvious goalscoring opportunity and that is a red card offence. However, I didn't have the best angle, and Murray may have been moving away from goal, which presumably is why the 'keeper wasn't sent off.

He was right by the line, not a red i don't think but i may be wrong. Great call on the second pen, a lot of referees woul've let it go.

He'd already let a 2 handed push on Murray go in first half.

Was there a hint that Brighton might have had a pen

Should have sent of the Brighton keeper.

But good overall.

Was never going to send the keeper off.

Murray was going away from goal and at a tight angle.

He was the last man though.

Still never mind 3-0 anyway ha ha

He certainly does

Brighton had a man almost on the line when Murray went down so was right not to send the keep off. Second penalty was a great spot - a blatant tqwo handed push into Murray's chest.

In what way does a man on the line (if there was one) stop it being a goalscoring opportunity?

You could argue that being 25 yards from goal is a goal scoring opportunity.

There was one.

And in exactly the same way as a covering defender nearby stops a red card when another defender commits a foul as not quite the last man.

I liked the way for the sending off that Their number 2 sprinted to get behind the player after to try and claim that he was the last man.

It has nothing to do with being the last man

If the foul denises a clear goalscoring opportunity its a red card, an dteh keeper clearly denied that at the very least
